Okay, let’s talk about this “wanted man 2 gray zone” task. What a headache that turned out to be, seriously.
I first jumped into it thinking, yeah, standard mission, probably clear it out in an hour or so. Man, was I wrong. Got absolutely flattened the first few tries. Just couldn’t figure out the enemy patrols, seemed like they were everywhere, especially around that main objective area. It felt like running into a brick wall, over and over.

First Attempts Were Rough
My initial strategy? Pretty much just run and gun. Didn’t work. Then I tried sneaking around the edges. Also didn’t work. Got spotted from angles I didn’t even know existed. It was incredibly frustrating. Felt like the game was cheating sometimes, you know? Like that one guy who always seems to know where you are.
- Tried going in from the north entrance – bad idea. Too open.
- Tried a flanking maneuver from the west – got pinned down instantly.
- Even tried just waiting them out – they didn’t move much, just stayed dug in.
Honestly, after about five failed attempts, I almost gave up. Put the controller down, walked away. Thought maybe it was bugged or just beyond me.
Figuring Things Out
But it kept nagging at me. So, I went back later, with a cooler head. Didn’t even play right away. I just sat there, looking at the map screen, trying to remember the patrol routes I’d seen. Started thinking about gear loadouts differently. Maybe less firepower, more tools? Smoke grenades, maybe?
This changed everything. I decided on a completely different approach. Slow. Very slow. And methodical. Packed extra smoke, a suppressed weapon, and decided to stick strictly to the overgrown areas on the eastern side, even if it took way longer.
The Actual Run
So, I geared up and went back in. Crawled mostly. Took me ages just to get near the first checkpoint. Used smoke to cross one open path. Heart was pounding, not gonna lie. Spotted a sniper I hadn’t seen before, managed to take him out quietly. That felt like a small victory.
Getting to the actual objective, the ‘gray zone’ part where the target was supposed to be, was tense. Had to wait for patrols to pass multiple times. There were a couple of close calls where I thought I was definitely seen, but managed to duck back into cover just in time.

Found the target, dealt with the situation. The extraction was almost as bad as getting in. Didn’t want to push my luck, so I basically retraced my steps, slow and steady. Used my last smoke grenade to get across the final open field to the extraction point.
Made It Out
Finally saw that “Extraction Complete” message. Relief, man. Pure relief. It wasn’t clean, it wasn’t fast, but it was done. Took way more effort and planning than I expected. It’s funny how sometimes you just gotta stop, think, and try something completely different instead of just banging your head against the same problem.
Definitely a learning experience. Patience isn’t usually my strong suit, but this mission basically forced it on me. Glad it’s over though!
