Alright, let’s talk about this Wuthering Waves battle pass weapon situation. I finally decided to grab the paid tier, the Pioneer Podcast thing, mostly ’cause I figured the rewards stack up okay over time, and yeah, that weapon crate at level 30 was a big draw.
So, I grinded my way up there. You know how it goes – doing the dailies, knocking out the weekly tasks, clearing out that Merit Claim stuff. Took a little while, not gonna lie, but finally hit level 30 and got that shiny weapon box waiting for me.

Choosing the Weapon
Now, this was the part where I actually had to stop and think. They give you one choice, just one, from five different weapons. You’ve got:
- Autumntrace (Sword)
- Logger’s Strand (Broadblade)
- Static Mist (Pistols)
- Undying Flame (Gauntlets)
- Variomotivator (Rectifier)
I spent a good chunk of time just staring at the selection screen. Seriously, probably longer than I should have. My main thought process was, “Who actually needs this the most right now?” My characters are kinda all over the place in terms of gear. Some have decent gacha weapons, others are scraping by with whatever I could craft or find.
I looked at the stats on each one. Most of them have that Crit Rate secondary stat, which is pretty universally good, helps build characters easier. The passives seemed okay too, nothing game-breaking usually, but nice little bonuses. I was leaning towards the Broadblade or maybe the Sword.
My Decision and First Impressions
My Calcharo was using a pretty meh 4-star broadblade I got from somewhere, wasn’t really cutting it. And my Rover, well, the sword situation there wasn’t great either. I flip-flopped a bit. Considered the pistols for Mortefi, but decided against it.
In the end, I grabbed the Logger’s Strand, the Broadblade. Calcharo is someone I use quite a bit for kicking butt, and that Crit Rate felt like a solid upgrade over what he had. The passive boosts Basic and Heavy Attack DMG after using a skill, which lines up okay with how I play him anyway.
So, I claimed it, went straight to the character screen, and swapped it onto Calcharo. Leveled it up a bit immediately with the materials I had saved. It definitely looks better than his old weapon, gotta give it that.

Then I took him out for a spin. Just went to beat up some Tacet Discords near Jinzhou, the usual testing grounds. It felt… good? I mean, it’s hard to tell specifics right away without proper parsing or fighting a tough boss. But the attacks felt solid, and seeing bigger crit numbers pop up more often is always satisfying. The raw Attack and Crit Rate are noticeable improvements, for sure. The passive seemed to proc fine, though I wasn’t strictly tracking its uptime.
Final Thoughts (For Now)
Overall, pretty satisfied with picking the Logger’s Strand. It feels like a tangible upgrade for Calcharo, which was the goal. Took me ages to decide, but better than regretting it later, right? For anyone else hitting level 30 on the battle pass, my advice is just look at your current character roster, see who has the weakest weapon in a category you actually use, and consider if the BP weapon fills that gap nicely. The Crit Rate stat makes most of them pretty safe bets if you’re unsure. It’s a decent power boost, especially if you haven’t been lucky with weapon pulls.
That’s my experience with it, anyway. Just wanted to share how I went about picking mine.
