Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Aaron Judge fella. Folks keep askin’, is Aaron Judge black? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t that simple. Life’s never simple, is it? Just like plantin’ corn, you gotta dig a bit deeper to get the whole story.
See, this Aaron, he was born in some place called Sacramento, California. Now, I ain’t never been to California, but I hear it’s full of them city folk. Anyways, his mama and daddy, Patty and Wayne Judge, they weren’t his birth parents. They adopted him right after he was born. Good folks, I reckon, takin’ in a young’un like that. They also got another boy, John, also adopted. So, Aaron’s got a brother, which is nice, you know, havin’ someone to play catch with.
Now, about him bein’ black…well, they say he’s biracial. That means he’s got a bit of this and a bit of that. Like a good stew, you got different ingredients mixin’ together. So, he ain’t just one thing or another. He’s a mix of things just like most of us are in some way or another. It ain’t like pickin’ between a red tomato and a green tomato. He’s probably got a bit of both, like them tomatoes that ain’t quite ripe but ain’t green no more.
- Born in Sacramento
- Adopted by Patty and Wayne Judge
- Has an older brother, John
- Biracial
This Aaron fella, he plays baseball, you know, that game with the bat and ball. He’s real good at it too, plays for the Yankees. Yankees, huh? Sounds like a bunch of city slickers to me. They gave him the number 99 on his shirt. Why 99? I ain’t got a clue. Maybe they ran out of other numbers. He just stuck with it, I guess. Like a burr on a dog’s tail, some things just stick.
He went to some college called Fresno State and played baseball there too. Learned all sorts of fancy tricks, I bet. While he was there playin’ ball, this gal, Samantha, she was studyin’ somethin’ called kinesiology. Big word, huh? Don’t know what that is, but it sounds important. They say she got her fancy learnin’ papers there too, both the regular kind and the extra fancy kind. Seems like a smart cookie, just like my grandson, always with his nose in them books.
So, back to this black or not black thing. Like I said, he’s biracial. In my day, we didn’t have all these fancy words. You were either this or that, but things are different now. Folks are mixin’ and matchin’ like a quilt. And that’s alright, I reckon. A quilt with different patches is warmer than one made of just one color, ain’t it?
This whole thing about where he comes from, it don’t matter much, does it? What matters is if he’s a good person, treats folks right, and maybe hits a home run every now and again. You know, like how I always say, it ain’t the color of the hen that matters, it’s the eggs she lays. This Aaron, he seems like a good egg, no matter what color he is.
So next time someone asks you, “is Aaron Judge black?”, you tell ‘em, “He’s biracial, a mix of things, and he’s a darn good baseball player.” And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? Just like my prize-winning pumpkin at the county fair last year, it wasn’t about how it looked, it was how big it grew and how much it weighed!
Aaron Judge’s background is interesting, sure, but in the end, it’s the person he is that counts. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
