Okay, so today I decided to mess around with the “intimacy” system in Wuthering Waves. I’d been putting it off, figuring it was just some extra fluff, but boy was I wrong.
First, I went to my Resonator list. You know, the screen where all your characters are hanging out. I picked Jiyan, because, well, he’s my main DPS and I wanted those sweet, sweet stat boosts.
I clicked on his profile, and there it was – a little heart icon with “Intimacy” next to it. It was, like, level 1. Super low. Time to fix that.
So, I started digging around for gifts. Turns out, you can get these from various places. I had a bunch of those “Shells” from doing dailies, so I exchanged some of those for gift boxes. Opened ’em up, got some random stuff – flowers, books, some weird-looking trinkets.
Then, back to Jiyan’s profile. I clicked on the “Gift” button and started throwing stuff at him. Literally. Just clicked on each item and watched the little intimacy bar go up. Each character likes different things, so some gifts gave more points than others. It’s a bit of trial and error, honestly.
I also found out you can boost intimacy just by using the character in battles. Every time you finish a fight with them in your team, they get a tiny bit more intimate with you. Good to know!
Leveling up Intimacy
I spent a good chunk of the day doing this. Running around, grabbing gifts, fighting everything that moved with Jiyan in my team. It was a grind, but a fun one.
As his intimacy level went up, I started unlocking stuff. New voice lines! Little stories about him! It really added some depth to the character. And, of course, the stat boosts. Those were the real prize. My Jiyan’s attack, defense, everything went up a notch.
- Level 1 to 3: Got some basic voice lines and a small stat boost.
- Level 4 to 6: More story content and a noticeable increase in stats.
- Level 7 and Up:(Still working on this!) I’m expecting even bigger bonuses and maybe even a special outfit? Fingers crossed!
It seems that increasing the level of intimacy is a time-consuming process, and you will not get the bonus you want in a short period of time. I will continue to share my experience with you after trying.
So yeah, that’s my deep dive into the Wuthering Waves intimacy system. Definitely worth the effort if you want to max out your favorite characters and learn more about them. Don’t sleep on it like I did!
