Now, they had this big match, see? Gordon Ryan versus… uh… Patrick… somethin’ or other. Gaudio, that’s it! Patrick Gaudio. Sounded like a fancy pants name to me. Anyways, everyone was makin’ a big fuss about it, sayin’ Gordon was gonna win, no question.
They call Gordon the “BJJ GOAT.” Now, I ain’t got a clue what that means, but it sounds important, like he’s the top dog or somethin’. They was sayin’ he hadn’t fought in a while, maybe a whole year or so. But he was comin’ back to defend his title, whatever that is.

- Won a bunch of championships, seems like he’s pretty good at it.
This Gaudio fella, I don’t know much about him. They said Gordon was a big favorite to win, like, nobody thought Gaudio had a chance. They even had some numbers, like “-1800 odds” or somethin’. Sounded like they were bettin’ on chickens at the county fair, if you ask me.
Gordon, he was talkin’ about how this match was important to him. Said it was a chance to show how much better he’s gotten. Well, I reckon that’s what everyone tries to do, ain’t it? Get better at stuff. Whether it’s wrestlin’ or milkin’ cows, you always wanna be the best you can be.
I heard tell Gordon had some belly problems before, had to pull out of a fight. That’s no good. Nothin’ worse than a bellyache, I tell ya. Makes you wanna just curl up and stay in bed all day. But he seemed alright for this Gaudio fight, ready to rumble, as they say.
There was some talk about Gordon and his brother, Nicky. Seems they had a falling out, didn’t talk for a while. Brothers, huh? Always fightin’ and fussin’. Reminds me of my own boys, always at each other’s throats. But they said they patched things up, which is good. Family’s important, even if they drive you crazy sometimes.
So, this Gordon fella, he’s a big deal in that jiu-jitsu world. He wins a lot, people expect him to win, and he talks a good game. I still don’t understand all the fuss, but I guess it takes all kinds to make a world. Some folks like wrestlin’, some folks like farmin’, and some folks like sittin’ on the porch and watchin’ the world go by. That’s more my speed, I tell ya.
From what I gather, Gordon Ryan won the match. Folks were cheerin’ and clappin’, sayin’ he’s the best there is. Well, good for him, I say. Hope he enjoys it. Me? I’m gonna go make some supper. All this talk about fightin’ makes me hungry.
