Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Lexi Thompson gal and her brothers. Folks been talkin’, ya know? All sorts of talk about her retirin’ and such.
Now, I ain’t no golf expert, mind you. I wouldn’t know a birdie from a chicken, but I hear tell this Lexi, she’s a big deal in women’s golf. Real big. Like, winnin’ championships and makin’ a whole lotta money big. They say she’s got somethin’ like 14.7 million dollars! Can ya believe that? That’s more money than I ever seen in my whole life, I tell ya.
- She won that Chevron Championship back in 2014. Folks still talk about it.
- And they say she was the youngest gal to ever win a big golf game. Imagine that, just a young’un showin’ them older folks how it’s done.
But see, this story ain’t just about Lexi. It’s about her brothers too. Turns out, she ain’t the only one in the family swingin’ them golf clubs. She’s got two of ’em, Nicholas and Curtis. They play golf too, professionally and all. Been on somethin’ called the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA Tour, whatever that is. Sounds fancy, though. Family full of golfers, I reckon.
This Lexi, she up and decided to retire from playin’ full-time. Said it before some big game, the U.S. Women’s Open. Folks were surprised, I guess. But six months later, it hit her hard. Real emotional, they said. She been holdin’ it in, all them feelin’s about her career and all. Must be tough, lettin’ go of somethin’ you been doin’ your whole life. It’s like me and my garden, I reckon. Wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I couldn’t dig in the dirt no more.
But she seems like a good gal, this Lexi. Got her head on straight, I think. She said somethin’ about God havin’ a path for her. Got some words from the Bible tattooed on her arm, too. “Psalm 46:5” it says. Somethin’ about God bein’ within her. That’s nice, I think. Helps to have somethin’ to believe in, ya know?
So, yeah, that’s the story of Lexi Thompson and her brothers. A family of golfers, with one of ’em steppin’ away from the game. But life goes on, right? She’ll find her way, I reckon. Just like we all do. One way or another, we all find our way. And who knows, maybe her brothers will keep on swingin’ them clubs for a long time to come.
Now, some folks were speculatin’ and reportin’ all sorts of things about why she retired. But I ain’t one for gossip. What’s done is done, I say. And this Lexi, she seems like she’s got a good head on her shoulders. She’ll figure out what’s next for her. Life’s got a funny way of workin’ out, ya know? You just gotta trust the good lord and keep on movin’ forward.
