Alright, folks, let’s talk about how I finally managed to snag not one, but two Lightbringers in Dead by Daylight. It was a grind, I’m not gonna lie, but totally doable if you focus.
My Starting Point (aka “The Struggle”)
First off, I was pretty average at DBD. I could loop okay-ish, knew the maps মোটামুটি (mòtà in a good way), but my gen repair efficiency? Garbage. I was that guy always getting caught off-guard, wasting pallets, and generally being a detriment to the team. My emblems were usually a sad mix of bronze and silver, with the occasional lucky gold.

The “Aha!” Moment
I realized I needed to change my whole approach. I was playing too scared, too focused on avoiding the killer, and not enough on actually, you know, doing the objective. So, I started watching some streamers who were really good at gen-rushing and multitasking.
Putting it into Practice (aka “The Grind Begins”)
- Gen Jockey Mode: I picked survivors with perks that helped with repairs. Think Prove Thyself, Resilience, even Spine Chill to know when the killer was coming.
- Toolboxes are Your Friends: I started bringing toolboxes with charges and add-ons that boosted repair speed. Commodious Toolbox, with Wirespool + Socket Spanners, were the ones that worked the best.
- Ignore the Killer (Mostly): This was the hardest part. My instinct was to run at the first sign of the terror radius. But I forced myself to stick to gens, even if it meant taking a hit. 90% of the time, I finished that gen and bolted.
- Spread the Love: I stopped focusing on one gen at a time. I’d work on one until it was almost done, then move to another, and another. This way, I could pop multiple gens quickly if the killer wasn’t paying attention.
- Great Skill Checks? YES!: Practicing my skill checks was a MUST, doing it over and over untill i nailed it, no great skill check? No finishing gens fast.
The Breakthrough
It took a few matches, and I definitely got tunneled a bunch. But slowly, I started seeing more gold emblems in the Lightbringer category. Then, one glorious match, everything clicked. I popped three gens almost single-handedly, took a few chases, and even managed to unhook a teammate. Boom! Two Lightbringers, iridescent and gold. The feeling was amazing.
My Takeaways
Earning two Lightbringers isn’t about being a god-tier looper. It’s about prioritizing gens, managing your time, and being willing to take risks. It’s a team effort, sure, but sometimes you gotta be the one to carry the gen-repairing weight.
It takes parctice and patience, it is a slow and grinding process, but once you get the hang of it, it will be easier to do.
