Djokovic was going for a calendar Grand Slam, trying to win all four big tournaments in the same year. But Medvedev, he wasn’t having none of that. He won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, and snatched that big title right outta Djokovic’s hands.
But that’s not all. Oh no, this ain’t the only big win for Medvedev. He’s won 20 singles titles in total, and most of them were on hard courts. I reckon he must’ve spent a lotta time practicing on them courts, ‘cause he sure knows how to handle himself. Besides the US Open, he’s also taken home the ATP Finals in 2020, and some big Masters 1000 titles in places like Cincinnati and Shanghai.
He sure knows his way around a tennis court, and it ain’t just the big titles. No, Medvedev’s been playin’ for years, workin’ his way up from the bottom. And guess what? As of 2024, he’s sittin’ pretty at number 4 in the ATP rankings. Not too shabby, huh?
