Okay, so I’ve been grinding in Honkai Star Rail, and let me tell you, getting ready for Firefly’s release has been a journey. I wanted to share my material gathering process, ’cause it might help some of you folks out.
First thing I did was check out some of the leaked info. Gotta know what you’re aiming for, right? Based on that, I started with a general plan. I figured I’d need a bunch of these things:
- Credits: Always need credits. Always.
- Trace Materials: Those “Raging Heart” things looked important.
- Character EXP Materials: Leveling her up is gonna take a mountain of those.
- Light Cone EXP Materials: Gotta get that weapon strong, too!
- Stagnant Shadow: I figured I will need it a lot.
So, I started hitting the Calyxes (is that the plural? Calyxes? Whatever…). I spent, like, two days just running the Golden Calyx for credits. Man, it’s boring, but you need SO MANY. Seriously, prepare to drown in credits if you aren’t already.
Focus Fire! (On the Trace Materials)
Next up were those Raging Heart thingies. I found the Bud of Destruction Crimson Calyx was the place to be. It was a bit of a pain, because my team wasn’t perfectly optimized for it, but I got there. Tip: bring your best Fire damage dealers, and maybe a good shielder. I used the Preservation Trailblazer a lot. He ain’t the best in some areas, but was quite a good tank.
I also made sure to grab some of the basic materials from the Simulated Universe. You know, the stuff you get from just clearing the worlds. It’s not a ton, but it adds up, and you can snag some Relics while you’re at it. Which is good. I am always running out of good ones.
The Long Haul (Character and Light Cone EXP)
For the EXP materials, I just did what I always do: run the Crimson Calyx for the Character EXP books, and the Storage Zone Calyx for the Light Cone stuff. It’s a grind, no way around it. I tried to mix it up with other activities, like doing my daily assignments and the Simulated Universe runs, just to keep from going completely insane.
Stagnant Shadow
I farmed the new Stagnant Shadow for a couple of days, I didn’t count exactly, I just did whatever my Trailblaze Power could handle. I’d say I got about 50, just in case.
One thing I didn’t do yet was pre-farm her Relics. I’m kinda waiting to see what the final recommended sets are before I commit to that. Plus, I’m still working on getting good Relics for my other characters. It’s a never-ending cycle, I swear.
Anyway, that’s my pre-farming journey so far. I feel pretty good about it, I think I’ve got a decent stash of materials ready for when Firefly finally drops. Now, it’s just the waiting game… and probably more credit farming. Sigh. Good luck to everyone else getting ready!
