Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Grey Zone Warfare lately, and like everyone else, I was getting tired of the long treks across the map. I mean, seriously, who has time for that? So, I started looking for ways to speed things up – shortcuts, fast travel, anything! Here’s what I’ve dug up and tried myself.
My Quest for Speed
At first, I was just running everywhere, following the roads like a good little soldier. Big mistake! That’s slow and leaves you super exposed. I got sniped more times than I care to admit. Then I started thinking, “There’s gotta be a better way.” And there is, sort of.
The “Helicopter” Method
The first thing I tried, and what a lot of people talk about, is the helicopter. Basically, you call in a chopper, and it takes you to a designated landing zone. Here’s the step-by-step, from my experience:
- Find a Landing Zone: You gotta be at a spot where a helicopter can actually land. Look for those on your map.
- Call it In: Open up your comms, find the helicopter option, and request a pickup.
- Wait and Pray: This is the tricky part. You have to wait for the chopper to arrive, and you’re a sitting duck. Find some cover!
- Hop On: Once it lands, get in quick!
- Choose Your Destination: You usually get a few options on where to go. Pick the closest one to where you actually need to be.
Now with these steps,you’re on the fast track to your destination
Pros: It’s definitely faster than walking. And it’s kinda cool to fly around.
Cons: It’s not instant fast travel. You still have to wait, and you’re vulnerable during pickup and drop-off. Plus, those landing zones aren’t always super convenient.
Thinking Outside the Box (or Helicopter)
After a few helicopter rides, I started experimenting. I noticed a few things:
- Terrain Matters: You can cut across fields and through forests, but it’s slower than using roads. However, sometimes it’s worth it to avoid enemy encounters.
- Waterways: I haven’t fully explored this yet, but I’m wondering if there are any shortcuts using boats or swimming. More on this later!
My Current Strategy
Right now, here’s how I’m handling getting around:
- Helicopter When Convenient: If there’s a landing zone close to where I am and where I need to go, I’ll use it.
- Strategic Running: I’m trying to learn the map better. I look for the shortest routes, even if they’re off-road, and try to anticipate where enemies might be.
- Always Be Prepared: I always carry enough supplies in case I get stuck somewhere or have to make a long run.
