Alright guys, so I finally took the plunge and tried out “Grey Zone Warfare” – you know, that new tactical FPS everyone’s been talking about? Figured I’d share my “first hit” experience, ’cause it was… well, let’s just say it was a learning experience.
Gettin’ Started
First off, I downloaded the game – took a bit, my internet’s not exactly top-tier. Once it was ready, I jumped into the character creation. Not a ton of options, but enough to make my guy look kinda badass, I guess. Picked a faction – doesn’t really matter which one you go for at the start, from what I can tell.

The Initial Drop
So, they drop you into this HUGE open-world map. Seriously, it’s massive. I spawned in some random base camp, feeling a little lost, to be honest. I checked the map – so many markers, I didn’t even know where to begin. I grabbed the starter gear they give you – pretty basic stuff, a rifle, some ammo, a couple of bandages.
Wandering Aimlessly (and Getting Shot)
I figured I’d just head towards the closest marker on the map. Big mistake. I started walking, and like five minutes in, BAM! Got shot from out of nowhere. Didn’t even see the guy. Downed instantly. Luckily, some random teammate revived me – shoutout to that dude, whoever you are.
After that, I was a lot more cautious. I stuck to cover, moved slowly, constantly checking my surroundings. Still, it felt like I was walking on eggshells. Every rustle of leaves, every bird chirping, made me jump.
Finally, Some Action (Sort Of)
I eventually stumbled upon a small group of enemies. I took cover behind a tree, lined up my shot… and completely missed. My aim was all over the place. They spotted me, and we exchanged some fire. I managed to hit one of them, but then another one flanked me and… well, I died. Again.
Respawn and Repeat
I respawned back at the base camp, feeling a bit frustrated. I decided to try a different approach. I found a group of other players and stuck with them. Safety in numbers, right? We moved together, clearing out a few enemy positions. It felt a lot better working as a team.
End of the Session
- I was killed lots of times.
- Teammates sometimes help,and sometime don’t.
- Try to be more cautious!
After a couple of hours, I called it quits. My “first hit” of “Grey Zone Warfare” was definitely rough. I died a lot, didn’t get many kills, and mostly felt confused. But, I can see the potential. The gunplay feels solid, the map is interesting, and the teamwork aspect is definitely there. I’m gonna keep at it, try to learn the ropes, and hopefully, get a little better. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress!
