Okay, so I wanted to mess around with Yunli’s voice lines, specifically the Japanese ones. You know, that character from Honkai: Star Rail? She’s got this cool swordswoman vibe, and I was really digging her Japanese voice actor, Shion Wakayama.
First, I went on a hunt for those voice files. Found a site that had a bunch of them. It said something about “Japanese voice-over files for Yunli” and mentioned that the content was under some kind of Creative Commons license, whatever that means. I just wanted the audio files, so I grabbed those.
Next, I started playing the files. There was this one line that caught my ear: “Watashi wa Unri. Saa, ken wo totte. Ichido teawase sureba.” It sounded so epic, like she was about to start a duel or something. I don’t know Japanese, but it just sounded cool, you know?
I also dug up some info about Yunli herself. Turns out, she’s from a family of swordsmiths, which explains why she’s so good with a sword. There was this quote about how “skill alone isn’t enough” in swordsmanship and that “communication with the sword is equally important.” I guess that’s some deep sword philosophy stuff.
Then I started messing around with her lines. I noticed that she gains “Parry” and “Taunts all enemies.” I am not sure, maybe these are some kind of battle skills in the game? I haven’t played it yet, but it sounds fun. And there’s a name, Brenna Larsen, I guess she is another voice actor.
So yeah, that’s basically what I did today. I found some cool voice lines, learned a bit about Yunli, and now I’m even more interested in checking out Honkai: Star Rail. Maybe I’ll even learn some Japanese along the way. Who knows?
