Alright, so listen up, y’all gonna hear about this here Mets versus Milwaukee Brewers game, right? I ain’t no fancy sports expert, but I’ll tell ya what I saw and what I heard, like it is. No big words or nothin’, just plain talk.
So, first off, them fellas over at CBS Sports, they was talkin’ about the game bein’ on October 1st. Said they had all the scores and stats and such. Mets versus Milwaukee Brewers, that’s what they said. Sounds important, I guess.
Now, they also said you could find out how these two teams done played against each other before. Like who won and who lost in the past. Heard tell of somethin’ called “H2H,” which I reckon means head-to-head. And they had all sorts of info on them fellas playin’, the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers, they kept repeatin’ that.
Anyways, the game, it was a real nail-biter, let me tell ya. At first, the Brewers, they was behind. But then, this fella, J.D. Martinez, he comes up and smacks a ball real hard, gets two runs in. Just like that, Brewers was ahead, 4 to 3! Heard the crowd go wild, musta been somethin’ to see.
- Mets fellas, Lindor and Alonso, they was playin’. Heard their names a lot. Guess they’re pretty good.
- Brewers, they got that Mitchell fella, hit a home run, put ’em ahead. That sealed the deal, seems like.
Then there was all this talk about what happens if the Mets won or the Braves won. Sounded complicated, somethin’ about dividin’ and playoffs. All I know is, the Mets needed to beat them Brewers to keep goin’.
The odds, they was sayin’ it was pretty even. Both teams had a good chance, Mets and Brewers both at -110 or somethin’. Means it coulda gone either way, I reckon. They was even talkin’ about the Mets bein’ 1.5 points ahead at some point, but that didn’t mean nothin’ in the end.
So what happened if the Mets won? Well, they said the Mets would go on to play them Phillies. Them Phillies, they was already waitin’, didn’t have to play this game, lucky ducks. But the Brewers, they put a stop to that. That Mitchell fella, he hit that home run, and the Brewers won 5 to 3.
The Brewers, they was down for a long time, almost seven innings! But then, boom! They just started hittin’ the ball all over the place. This Maton fella pitchin’ for the Mets, he couldn’t stop ’em. That Mitchell, he hit that go-ahead home run, and that was that. Game over. Brewers won.
Heard somethin’ about 40,000 folks bein’ there watchin’. That’s a whole lotta people! Musta been loud. And all them folks saw the Brewers come back and win. Player stats, they matter, I guess. Like that Martinez gettin’ them two runs, and Mitchell hittin’ that home run. Those were big plays.
They was also talkin’ about other stuff, like who got the most walks for some team called the Blue Jays, and pitchers with strikeouts, and some fella named Aaron Judge. Don’t know what all that means, but it sounds important to somebody. All I cared about was this Mets and Brewers game.
So, that’s the story as I see it. The Brewers, they come back, they win the game. The Mets, they go home. And that’s baseball, I guess. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. And sometimes, a fella named Mitchell hits a home run and makes all the difference. Mets vs Brewers, that’s what they called it, and it sure was somethin’!
