Okay, so I tried out this whole Alex Pereira face painting thing today. You know, the UFC fighter with that super intense look? Yeah, that’s the one. I thought it would be a fun little project. I saw some stuff online about it being related to his tribe and honoring his ancestors and all that, so I got curious.
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I just used some regular face paint I found at a local store – nothing fancy. Black, white, and red were the main colors. I also grabbed a few different sized brushes, a cup of water for rinsing, and some paper towels because, let’s face it, I’m not exactly a pro at this.
Next, I pulled up some pictures of Pereira online to get a better look at the design. It seemed pretty straightforward: a big black area around the eyes, some white lines, and a few red accents. I started with the black part, carefully painting around my eyes. It took a while to get it even, and I definitely messed up a few times and had to wipe it off and start over.
- Then came the white lines. I used a thinner brush for these, trying to make them as straight and symmetrical as possible. Let me tell you, that was harder than it looked. I have a new respect for anyone who can do this stuff well.
- Finally, I added the red details. Just a few dots and lines here and there. By this point, I was starting to feel a bit more confident, and I even got a little creative with it.
After about an hour of painting, wiping, and repainting, I was finally done. I looked in the mirror and, I gotta say, it was pretty cool. Not exactly like Pereira’s, but hey, I did my best. It was a fun experience, and I learned a little bit about indigenous face painting along the way. Who knows, maybe I’ll try another design sometime.
It’s Not Perfect, But It Was Fun!
It’s not perfect. I had a good time doing it. And you know what? Maybe I’ll do it again sometime. It’s a pretty neat way to express yourself, and it’s a lot cheaper than getting a tattoo! Anyways, just wanted to share my little adventure with you all. Maybe you guys can try it out yourselves and see how it goes. Peace out!
