Okay, so I saw some buzz about this “Blue Mountain Spoonbill Genshin” thing online, and I got curious. I’m a huge Genshin Impact fan, so any new creature or item gets me hyped. I figured I’d dive in and see what it was all about, and, well, document my little adventure.
The Initial Hunt
First things first, I booted up Genshin. I mean, obviously, right? Where else would I find this Spoonbill?

My initial thought was, “Blue Mountain… must be somewhere mountainous!” So, I teleported over to Liyue, since it’s got tons of mountains. I spent a good hour just flying around, checking every peak and cranny. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I even used up all my stamina points several times. You know that feeling when your characters just plumb out of energy and are about to fall? That was me, many times. I did get many nice photos though!
Getting Smarter (aka Googling)
Okay, after that fruitless hour, I decided I needed some help. I popped open Google and typed in “Blue Mountain Spoonbill Genshin location”. Turns out, I was way off.
It’s not even in Liyue! It is in Chenyu Vale, near the water.
- I felt a little silly, I’ll admit.
The Chenyu Vale Expedition
Teleported to Chenyu Vale. Way easier than flying, let me tell you. I immediately headed towards the nearest body of water, keeping an eye out for anything bird-like.
And there it was! Not exactly “mountain-y,” but definitely blue and definitely a bird. It was kind of majestic, just chilling by the water. It’s called “Blue-Feathered Heron”.

The Catch (or Not)
My first instinct? Attack it. I needed those fowl, I was running low. I whacked it with my sword a few times, and…yup, it dropped some fowl.
So, that’s it. That’s the Blue Mountain Spoonbill. A fancy-looking bird that gives you fowl. Not the most exciting adventure, but hey, I got some fowl, and I learned something new about Chenyu Vale. Plus, it was a nice excuse to explore a bit.
Maybe next time I’ll try to find some other hidden creatures. Or maybe I’ll just go back to farming artifacts. Who knows!
