Okay, so I finally decided to dive into this “Genshin Impact” cat event everyone’s been talking about. I’d seen some screenshots online and, well, I’m a sucker for anything with cute animals.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to actually find the event. It wasn’t popping up on my main quest list, so I did a bit of digging. Turns out, you gotta go to Mondstadt and talk to this one NPC, I think her name was… Sarah? Something like that. She’s hanging out near the Adventurers’ Guild, can’t miss her.

The Actual Event
Once I talked to her, the event kicked off. Basically, it’s all about finding these stray cats around Mondstadt and, I guess, Liyue too? And you have to, like, coax them over with food. Simple enough, right?
- Finding the Cats: This was a bit trickier than I expected. The event gives you hints, like “near the city walls” or “close to the water,” but you still have to do some serious searching. I spent a good hour just wandering around Mondstadt, clicking on every cat-shaped object I could find.
- Feeding the Cats: You need specific food for each cat. I think. This part got a bit tedious. I ended up having to craft a bunch of fish dishes because, you know, cats love fish. It was a whole thing. Had to run around and gather ingredients.
- Cat capture? No, you need to pet them: So, you choose the dish the game prompts, give it to the cat, and wait. The cats are picky. Pet them to increase friendship.
My Rewards! (Worth It?)
After all that running around and cooking, I finally managed to “befriend” all the cats. I got some Primogems, which is always nice. But the best part? I got this adorable cat furniture for my Serenitea Pot! It’s seriously cute. It’s got little paw prints and everything.
Overall, it was a fun little event. A bit time-consuming, especially the ingredient gathering, but definitely worth it for the rewards and the sheer cuteness factor. If you’re a cat lover and play “Genshin Impact,” you gotta check it out!
