Okay, so I’ve been hyped about this Genshin Impact 4.8 update. I mean, who isn’t, right? So, I decided to get a countdown going to keep track. Today, I finally set it up, and I figured I’d share how I did it because why not?
First off, I did a quick search online to find out when 4.8 is actually coming out. Turns out, it’s gonna drop on July 17, 2024. And it’s not one of those staggered releases—it’s hitting all regions at the same time, 11 am (UTC+8) sharp. I wrote that down because I know I’d forget otherwise.
Next, I needed to figure out how many days were left until the release. I just used my phone’s calendar for this. I counted the days from today to July 17th. Easy peasy.
Then came the fun part—making the countdown timer. I thought about coding something up, but honestly, I wanted something quick and simple. So I decided to create a simple countdown timer with a note on my computer.
I opened up the Notepad app on my PC, nothing fancy. In there, I put the release date at the top, big and clear. And then, I just wrote down “Days Left: [number of days].” Every day, I’m just gonna manually update that number. I know, it’s a bit old school, but it works, and I like seeing that number go down each day.
Here’s a breakdown of what I did:
- Searched for the release date: July 17, 2024, 11 am (UTC+8)
- Calculated the days left: Used my phone’s calendar
- Created the countdown: Made a simple note on my computer
- Set a daily reminder: To update the countdown in my note
So yeah, that’s my little setup for the Genshin Impact 4.8 countdown. And while I was at it, I also read that Navia and Nilou’s banners are coming back with the update, and there’s a new 5-star character, Emilie. No new 4-stars, though. I’m pretty stoked about Navia’s banner—In the Name of the Rosula. I made a note of all that in my countdown file too, just so I don’t forget.
Now, every morning, I just open up my note, update the number, and get a little jolt of excitement. It’s a small thing, but it’s making the wait for 4.8 a bit more fun. Plus, it’s cool to see that number drop and know that the update is getting closer and closer!
