Today, I wanted to mess around with a countdown timer for Genshin Impact’s 4.8 update. I’m pretty hyped for it, especially since there’s a new character, Emilie, coming out. So, I started by looking up when the heck this update is even dropping.
First, I searched for the release date and found out that Genshin Impact 4.8 is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2024. That’s the key date I needed to start with. Then, I went looking for when the livestream for 4.8 is happening. I found that it’s on Friday, July 5th, at 1:05 PM BST, which is 8:05 AM ET. This info was useful because livestreams usually happen before the update, and they give out codes and stuff.

My Steps to Get the Countdown Going
- Gather the Dates: I made sure I had the release date (July 17, 2024) and the livestream date (July 5, 2024) right.
- Check for Livestream Codes: I found a mention of “4.8 Livestream Codes” from the Special Program. These codes are probably going to be useful, so I noted that down.
- New Character Hype: I’m super excited about Emilie, the new 5-star Dendro character. It’s a big part of why I wanted to do this countdown in the first place.
I also saw some stuff about the banners in version 4.8. Phase 1 has Navia and Nilou, which is cool. I saw a mention of version 5.3 coming out on December 31, 2024, or January 1, 2025. It’s a bit far off, but good to know. They mentioned characters like Mavuika and Citlali, which sounds interesting.
Overall, getting this countdown timer sorted was a fun little project. I’m all set for the 4.8 update and can’t wait to see Emilie in action. Plus, those livestream codes will definitely come in handy!
