Alright, let’s talk about this Caitlin Clark and, uh, this “Liv Golf” thing, whatever that is. Folks keep jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, you know? Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I just say it like it is.
So, this Caitlin girl, she’s a basketball player, a good one, they say. Shoots hoops and whatnot. But now she’s playin’ golf? Well, I’ll be! Seems like these young folks got energy to burn. When I was her age, I was too busy milkin’ cows and haulin’ hay to be swattin’ little balls around.
Now, they say she’s pretty good at it too. Shoot, they sayin’ she scores in the low 80s. Don’t know what that means exactly, but sounds low, so I guess that’s good. For a girl who ain’t a golf pro, that’s somethin’, huh? Guess all that runnin’ up and down the court makes her arms strong or somethin’.
- Heard tell she’s playin’ in some kinda “Pro-Am” thing. Sounds fancy. Probably got rich folks and all them sporty types.
- They sayin’ it ain’t gonna be on TV, the whole thing anyway. Pity. Woulda liked to see this girl in action myself. Maybe they’ll show a bit on the news, if it’s important enough.
This “Liv Golf,” like I said, don’t know much about it. Sounds like a big deal though, with all the fuss. People talkin’ ’bout “PGA Tour” and this and that. Too much for my old brain to keep up. All I know is, if it gets folks outside and movin’, it can’t be all bad, right?
Heard this Caitlin girl, she said she’s gonna play golf till it gets too cold in Indiana. Smart girl. Ain’t nobody wanna be freezin’ their behind off chasin’ a little ball. Come winter, she’ll probably be back to throwin’ that basketball, I reckon. That’s her job, ain’t it?
Seems like this golf thing is just somethin’ she does for fun, in her free time. Good for her, I say. Everyone needs a little somethin’ to take their mind off things. Workin’ all the time ain’t good for nobody. Even us old folks know that much. We used to have our own ways of relaxin’, you know. Sittin’ on the porch, swappin’ stories, that kinda thing.
This girl, though, she’s out there with the big shots, playin’ golf and whatnot. Times sure have changed. Back in my day, girls weren’t doin’ such things. They were busy with the chores and lookin’ after the youngins. But now they got their own careers, their own money, and they can do whatever they please, it seems. Good for them, I say, good for them.
So, Caitlin Clark and Liv Golf. It’s a thing, apparently. And if this girl’s havin’ fun and doin’ well, then more power to her, I say. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody, and maybe she’s even inspirin’ some folks to pick up a golf club or somethin’. Who knows? The world’s a funny place, that’s for sure.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself some supper. All this talk about sports and golf has made me hungry. And I ain’t talkin’ about no fancy food, just good old-fashioned country cookin’. That’s the stuff that keeps you goin’, let me tell ya.
