Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something I’ve been calling “spring of the first dewdrop.” Basically, I’m trying to capture that fresh, early-morning vibe in, well, I hadn’t decided yet. Could be a photo, a little piece of music, maybe even a short story. I just wanted to see where the idea would take me.
First thing I did was get up really early. Like, before-the-sun-is-even-thinking-about-it early. It was still pretty dark and, I gotta admit, kinda chilly. I grabbed my phone, because these days that’s my camera, my notebook, everything, you know?

I stepped outside and, man, the air was different. It had that clean smell, you know, that only happens before everyone else wakes up and starts messing things up. There was dew on everything – the grass, the leaves, even the spiderwebs looked like they were decorated with tiny diamonds.
I started snapping pictures. I focused on the little things. A single blade of grass with a perfect dewdrop clinging to it. The way the light, just starting to peek over the horizon, caught the edges of the leaves. It was all so… quiet and delicate.
Then I got this idea to try and record the sounds. So, I switched my phone to video and just let it run. Mostly, it picked up the silence, which was kind of the point. But then, a bird started singing. Just one, at first. Then another one joined in. It was like they were waking up the world.
Back inside, I looked at the pictures and the video. I was actually suprised that I’ve got some good stuff!
I messed around with the images, I played the sound in my earphone. The pictures I took were amazing!
- I have increased vibrance of the photo of the dewdrop.
- Added some contrast.
- And, played with the color temperature to make them feel just a bit warmer.
I’m no pro, but even I could see how much better they looked. The sounds, though… that was trickier.

I have no clue how to do it properly.
But, you know what? I didn’t care. It was all about capturing that feeling, that “spring of the first dewdrop” moment. And I think, in my own clumsy way, I managed to do that. It was a cool little experiment, and it reminded me to appreciate those small, quiet moments in life. Maybe I’ll try it again tomorrow, see what else I can find.
