Alright, so I’ve been meaning to do a proper comparison between FIFA 23 and eFootball for a while now. I mean, I play both, but I wanted to really dig in and see how they stack up, you know?
Getting Started
First things first, I fired up both games on my PC. Got FIFA 23 all nice and installed, and eFootball, being free-to-play, was ready to go too. The initial setup for both was pretty straightforward, nothing too complicated there.

Gameplay Deep Dive
I jumped into a few quick matches in both. FIFA, as always, felt super polished. The player movements, the stadium atmosphere – it’s all very immersive. The ball physics felt pretty realistic too, with those satisfying thuds and swerves. I tried out some skill moves, and they felt responsive and fluid, for the most part.
Then I switched over to eFootball. Honestly, the first thing I noticed was the difference in the visuals. It’s not bad, per se, but it definitely doesn’t have that same “wow” factor as FIFA. Gameplay-wise, it felt a bit more… deliberate? Like, you really have to think about your passes and positioning. I messed around with the “Stunning Kick” mechanic, which is kind of cool, but it took some getting used to.
- FIFA 23: Flashy, fast-paced, feels like a TV broadcast.
- eFootball: Slower, more tactical, requires more precision.
Game Modes and Content
This is where FIFA really shines. Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Volta… there’s just so much to do. I’m a sucker for building my own squad in Ultimate Team, so I spent a good chunk of time opening packs and tinkering with my lineup.
eFootball, on the other hand, feels pretty barebones in comparison. It has the “Dream Team” mode, which is similar to Ultimate Team, but it doesn’t have the same depth or polish. There are fewer leagues and teams too, which is a bit of a bummer.
The Verdict (For Now)
I also spend lots of time to play with my friends, we can easily play online together with FIFA, but very hard to play online with eFootball, because there are always errors. It always makes me feel down.
After spending a few days playing both games, I’ve got to say, FIFA 23 is still the king, at least for me. It’s just a more complete package, with better graphics, more game modes, and a more satisfying gameplay experience overall. eFootball has potential, but it needs a lot more work before it can truly compete. It’s free, so that’s a plus, but honestly, I’d rather pay for a more polished product.

Anyways after I played, I also checked a lot on the Internet to find out why the user experience of eFootball is so poor, but could not find any clues.
That’s my take, anyway. I’ll probably keep dabbling in both, but FIFA will definitely be my go-to for the foreseeable future.
