Alright, so, I wanted to mess around with the Shadowfell in Baldur’s Gate 3. I’d heard so much about it, and I was itching to see it for myself.
Getting Started
First, I made sure my party was, you know, ready. Leveled up, good gear, the whole nine yards. I’m not trying to get wiped in some spooky shadow realm. I stocked up on potions and scrolls – better safe than sorry, right?

I had to get through the Gauntlet of Shar, that was a whole thing in itself. Puzzles, trials, the usual dungeon-crawling stuff. To be honest, i did find a really good walkthrough online, cause i got stuck on the soft-step trial, its tricky!
The Shadowfell Itself
Entering the Shadowfell, Boom! The game does that cool transition thing, and suddenly everything’s all…purple and creepy. Seriously, the atmosphere is top-notch. It feels like you’re somewhere you shouldn’t be. I could also really feel the weight of the decisions i have made, especially with Shadowheart.
I started exploring, poking around in every dark corner. Found some interesting loot, fought some shadowy creatures – nothing my trusty sword couldn’t handle, though. The battles were more intense. I had to really start using the status effects, and combining the strength of my team members.
My overall take
Honestly, it’s a really cool area, I get why so many people are so into this part of the game. I definitely want to replay it soon, maybe make different decisions and see how that changes things up. I recommend everyone to check it out, it’s really an experience!
