Okay, so, I’ve been having this weird issue with my game lately, and it’s been driving me nuts. I wanted to share what I did to finally fix it, hopefully, it can help someone else out there.
So, picture this: I fire up my game launcher as usual, ready to dive into some action. I hit the play button, and boom! This annoying pop-up message shows up saying, “Exiting the game due to multiple launches.” What the heck? I’m like, “Multiple launches? I only clicked it once!”
I tried the usual stuff first. Restarted the launcher, thinking maybe it was just a little hiccup. Nope, the error message was still there, mocking me. I even did the good old Ctrl+Alt+Del move to bring up the Task Manager. I hunted down the launcher process, right-clicked, and chose “End Task.” I thought, “That’ll teach it!” But when I tried to launch the game again, same error. Ugh.
Then, I remembered this neat trick with Windows 10. I pressed CTRL+Windows+D, which magically created a new desktop. I opened up Task Manager there, found the game process, and ended it. To go back to my main desktop, I pressed CTRL+Windows+F4. I was feeling pretty smart at this point. But guess what? The error message was still there! Seriously?
At this point, I started thinking maybe it wasn’t just the launcher. I checked if my antivirus or firewall was messing with the game. Nothing. Then I looked for any other programs running in the background that might be causing trouble. Still nothing. I even thought about those pesky Windows updates that sometimes pop up at the worst times, but that wasn’t it either.
I was about to give up and just play something else, but then I had one last idea. I figured maybe, just maybe, it was something to do with the internet connection, since it’s an online game. I mean, sometimes the servers can be a bit wonky. Anyway, as a last-ditch effort, I restarted my router.
I waited for it to do its thing, reconnected, and launched the game again. And… it worked! No more annoying error message. I was finally in! I played for hours to be sure. Looks like it was just a network hiccup all along, and restarting the router was all it needed. I was so relieved that I spent the entire evening gaming. Who knew such a simple thing could be the solution?
So, yeah, that’s my story. If you ever run into the “Exiting the game due to multiple launches” error, don’t just restart the launcher or end the task. Try restarting your router. It might just save you a headache. Games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating, right?
