Okay, so I was getting really into Ghost of Tsushima the other day. You know how it is, you start a game, and you kinda wanna figure out how long the whole thing’s gonna take, or at least get a feel for the main story structure.
So, I sat down, booted up my computer, and decided to check how the story is broken down. I just wanted a rough idea, you know? Are we talking a few big chunks, or lots of little ones?

I opened up my browser and just typed something simple into the search bar, probably like “ghost of tsushima how many acts” or something along those lines. Didn’t need anything fancy, just the basic info.
Pretty quickly, I got my answer. It seemed straightforward enough.
What I Found Out
Turns out, the main story of Ghost of Tsushima is split into three acts. Simple as that.
- Act I: Rescue Lord Shimura
- Act II: Retake Castle Shimura
- Act III: Kill the Khan
Seeing it laid out like that helped. It gave me a sense of progression. When I finished the first part, moving into the second region, it really felt like I’d hit a major milestone, like moving onto the next big chapter. Same feeling moving into the third act.
It’s not like some games where acts feel kinda arbitrary. Here, each act felt distinct, with its own goals and even its own part of the island mostly. Knowing it was just three main acts made the whole journey feel a bit more manageable in my head, even though the game itself is pretty big with all the side stuff.
So yeah, that was my little discovery mission. Just wanted to know the structure, and it turns out it’s a classic three-act setup. Made sense as I kept playing.
