Okay, so I saw this “dream thirst trap” thing going around, and I was like, “What the heck is that?” I’m always up for trying new weird stuff, so I dove right in. Turns out, it’s about making these super short, kinda surreal videos that are supposed to be, well, thirsty. Think weird, dreamlike, and maybe a little bit hot. I’m no expert, but I figured I’d give it a shot and document the whole messy process.
First Step: Brainstorming (or Lack Thereof)
I started by just staring at my ceiling, trying to channel my inner David Lynch. I wanted something strange, but also, you know, appealing. I jotted down a few random ideas:

- A hand reaching out of a bowl of cereal.
- A flickering lightbulb with a face morphing on it.
- Me, but with, like, way more muscles. (A guy can dream, right?)
Honestly, none of it made much sense, but that felt right. It’s a “dream” thirst trap, so logic was kinda out the window.
Getting the Footage (aka, My Awkward Attempts)
Next, I started filming. The cereal thing was easy enough. I just stuck my hand in a bowl of milk and wiggled my fingers around. Felt kinda dumb, but whatever.
The lightbulb was trickier. I downloaded a face-morphing app and spent way too long trying to make it look creepy and cool at the same time. It mostly just looked like a messed-up Snapchat filter.
And then came the muscle part. This was where things got really embarrassing. I tried flexing in front of my phone, using all the best lighting and angles. Let’s just say the results were… not impressive. I definitely didn’t look like a Greek god. More like a slightly lumpy potato.
Editing the Mess (aka, Making it “Dreamlike”)
I threw all the clips into a video editing app. I didn’t have any fancy software, just the free one on my phone. I messed around with the speed, slowing some parts down, speeding others up. Added some weird filters – lots of blur and glow effects. Threw in some random sound effects that sounded vaguely unsettling. The goal was to make it look like a fever dream someone might have after eating too much cheese.
The Final Product (and My Mild Regret)
The finished video was… something. It was definitely short, definitely weird, and definitely not what I’d call “traditionally” attractive. But hey, that was the point, right? I posted it with the hashtag, and waited for the internet to do its thing. The reaction was a mix of confusion and mild amusement. A few people said it was “intriguing,” which I took as a win. Others just seemed baffled. My mom called and asked if I was feeling okay.
Overall, it was a fun, silly experiment. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s kind of addictive, this whole creating-weird-stuff-and-putting-it-online thing. Would I call myself a “dream thirst trap” expert now? Absolutely not. But at least I can say I tried. And that, in the grand scheme of the internet, is probably enough.
