Well now, folks, looks like we’re all wonderin’ ’bout this thing called “Mascot Mode” in that new NCAA 25 football game, huh? Folks been askin’ if they can still run ’round as them big ol’ mascots, like ol’ Chief Osceola ridin’ Renegade or that big Texas cow, Bevo. But, let me tell ya, it’s lookin’ like the answer is a big ol’ no. Ain’t gonna be no mascot mode in College Football 25.
Back in the old days, them NCAA football games had a real fun mode called “Mascot Mode.” It was a silly thing where ya could play as the team’s mascot, and folks loved it. Ya got to see all them funny mascots runnin’ around the field, havin’ themselves a good ol’ time, instead of just watchin’ players. It was somethin’ different and real fun for folks lookin’ for a bit of a laugh while playin’ the game.
But times change, don’t they? The folks at EA Sports, the ones who make these games, they decided this time ‘round they ain’t gonna bother with that mascot business. They done added all these new fancy features and modes, like the Dynasty mode and Road to Glory, so they figured the mascot stuff ain’t necessary no more.
In fact, EA Sports been real clear about this. Ain’t no mascot mode in NCAA 25. Instead, they focused on other things to make the game better. Now, don’t get me wrong, the game still got some fun things to look forward to, but the mascot mode? Well, it’s gone, folks. If you’re hopin’ to be runnin’ around as a big goofy mascot again, you’ll be disappointed.
They done told us about some other fun modes, though. For example, the Dynasty mode’s comin’ back. Now that’s somethin’ for them folks who like to manage a whole team, build up a program, and run it like a real college football team. Then there’s the Road to Glory mode, where you can take a single player and help ‘em rise up the ranks. All that stuff’s still in there, just not the mascot business.
Now, don’t think for a second that this game’s short on the fun and the excitement. They’ve added a whole bunch of new stuff to make up for it. There’s real team run-outs, rivalry chants, and all kinds of crowd noises to make the game feel like a real college football game. You’ll feel like you’re right there in the stadium with all the fans, cheerin’ and yellin’ as the players run out.
And don’t you worry, it’s still got all the school fight songs and them mascots, just not in the way we’re used to. You won’t be able to control the mascot, but you’ll sure hear ‘em. They even got 134 FBS universities in the game, so you can expect a lot of variety, especially if you’re a fan of a certain team.
It’s a bit sad, though, when you think about it. Mascot Mode was a real fun time, and a lot of fans were hopin’ for it to come back in NCAA 25. But hey, the game’s still got plenty to offer, even without that silly mode. So, while you won’t be runnin’ around as a big ol’ mascot, you can still enjoy the game in other ways.
If you’re really lookin’ for that mascot fun, though, you’ll have to go back to some of the older games like NCAA Football 14, which had that Mascot Mashup mode. That one let ya play with only mascots, and it was a hoot. But, times change, and now it’s all about them new game modes.
So, in the end, if you were hopin’ for that mascot fun in NCAA 25, you’re outta luck. But don’t fret none, there’s still a lot to look forward to in this new edition. Maybe it’s just time to get used to the new ways they’re makin’ things more real and serious. So, get ready for July 19, 2024, and enjoy all them new features, even if the mascots aren’t playin’ this time.
Final Thoughts: Even though they ain’t bringin’ back Mascot Mode, there’s plenty in NCAA 25 to make you happy. With modes like Dynasty and Road to Glory, and all the real game day action, it’s still gonna be a good time. Just no goofy mascots runnin’ ‘round the field this year.
