Alright, let’s talk about this whole “Fate Points” thing in Genshin Impact’s weapon banner. I’ve been pulling for weapons for a while now, and I wanted to figure out if these points carry over or not. So I did some digging and testing myself, and here’s what I found out.
First off, I started pulling on the current weapon banner. You know, the one with the two featured 5-star weapons? Well, the thing is, you gotta choose which one you want using this “Epitomized Path” thing. Each time I pulled a 5-star weapon that wasn’t the one I chose, I got a Fate Point. Seemed simple enough, right?
- Started pulling on the weapon banner
- Chose my desired weapon with Epitomized Path
- Got a Fate Point for every 5-star that wasn’t my pick
So, I racked up a couple of Fate Points, hoping to get my desired weapon eventually. But then the banner ended. I was like, “Dang, what happens to my Fate Points now?” I went into the next weapon banner, and guess what? They were gone! Vanished! I started at zero again. That’s when it hit me – Fate Points don’t carry over. It’s not like the pity system for characters. Each weapon banner is like a clean slate for Fate Points.
- Accumulated some Fate Points
- Banner ended, and I checked the next one
- Fate Points were reset to zero
- Realized Fate Points do not carry over to the next banner
Now, I also noticed something about the pity system on the weapon banner. See, your pity count, like how many pulls you’ve done since your last 5-star, that actually does carry over. So, if you pulled, say, 60 times on one weapon banner and didn’t get a 5-star, you start the next banner with that 60 pity already built up. You’re guaranteed a 5-star weapon within the next few pulls. That’s a relief, at least.
- Noticed pity count carries over
- Pulled 60 times without a 5-star on one banner
- Started the next banner with 60 pity
- Realized pity carries over, unlike Fate Points
My Realization
So, here’s the deal. Fate Points are a one-time thing for each weapon banner. You lose them when the banner ends. Pity, on the other hand, sticks with you. It’s a bit of a bummer, to be honest. You gotta be really sure you want that weapon and have enough pulls saved up to get it within that one banner, or else those Fate Points are just wasted. And if you are f2p players like me, you’d better save more pulls for your desired weapon. Good luck to us!
Anyway, that’s my experience with Fate Points in Genshin Impact. Hope this helps someone out there!
