Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Divergent Universe” thing in Honkai: Star Rail, and let me tell you, figuring out team comps has been a wild ride. Here’s how I went about it, from total confusion to kinda-sorta knowing what I’m doing.
First, I just jumped in. Didn’t read anything, didn’t watch any guides. Just picked some characters I liked and threw them into the fray. Big mistake. I got absolutely demolished. It was like watching a bunch of toddlers fight a giant robot.

Then, I realized I needed to, you know, actually understand the mechanics. So, I started paying attention to the blessings and the Curios. I mean this is very importan. These things totally change how your characters work. Some boost follow-up attacks, some buff shields, others mess with the enemy’s speed. It’s a lot to take in.
My Early (and Messy) Attempts
- Team 1: The “Hope This Works” Squad. I grabbed Seele, Bronya, because they’re my go-tos, and then added a healer and a tank, just in case. This did NOT work. The enemies just chewed through my defenses, and I wasn’t doing enough damage.
- Team 2: The “Follow-Up Fiesta.” I noticed a bunch of blessings that boosted follow-up attacks, so I tried building a team around that. I used Herta, Himeko, and… well, I can’t remember who else. It was better, but still not great.
After those initial failures, I started to get a little smarter. I began looking at the specific challenges and thinking about which blessings would be most helpful. I also started paying more attention to the enemy weaknesses.
For example, if I saw a bunch of enemies weak to Fire, I’d build a team around Himeko and maybe add Asta for the extra Fire damage and speed boost. If the blessings focused on shields, I’d bring Gepard or March 7th and load them up with * the blessings is for follow-up, I’d choose Herta, Himeko, and Topaz .
I still wouldn’t say I’m an expert, because I have low level characters. But I’m definitely getting better. The key is to be flexible and experiment. Don’t be afraid to try weird combinations and see what happens. And for the love of all that is holy, read the descriptions of the blessings and Curios!
My biggest takeaway? This mode is all about adapting. You can’t just stick with one team and expect to win everything. You have to think, plan, and be willing to change things up on the fly. It’s frustrating at times, but it’s also really rewarding when you finally put together a team that just clicks and crushes everything in its path.
