Alright, let’s talk about this Hafid Alicea fella. I saw some stuff on the TV about him, and let me tell ya, it ain’t pretty. This young fella, Hafid, he’s a wrestler, you know, like those fellas who grapple and try to pin each other down. Sounds rough, right? Well, it got real rough, real fast.
So, there’s this match, see? Hafid, he’s wrestling against another boy, Cooper Corder. Now, I don’t know much about wrestling, but from what I hear, you’re supposed to be sportsmanlike, you know, shake hands, play fair, that kinda thing. But Hafid? He lost, and he lost bad, 14-2, they said. That’s a whoppin’, ain’t it?
But that ain’t the worst of it, no sir. Instead of shakin’ hands and bein’ a good sport, this Hafid kid, he just hauled off and punched Cooper, right in the face! A sucker punch, they called it. Now, I ain’t no saint, but even I know that’s wrong. You don’t go around hittin’ folks when they ain’t lookin’, especially after you just got your butt whooped fair and square.
It was ugly, real ugly. I saw the video, and my stomach just churned. That poor Cooper boy, he didn’t deserve that. Nobody does. It makes you wonder what kinda upbringing this Hafid kid had. Didn’t his mama teach him no better? My old man always said, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Guess Hafid missed that lesson.
- This whole thing happened at a wrestling tournament, some fancy school in Oak Park.
- Folks are sayin’ Hafid should be banned from wrestling forever. And you know what? I ain’t disagreein’.
- There’s this other fella, Chael Sonnen, he used to fight in them cage matches, the UFC they call it. He’s sayin’ maybe a lifetime ban is too harsh. But I don’t know, seems to me like Hafid needs to learn a lesson.
Now, I understand kids make mistakes. We all do. But this ain’t just stealin’ a cookie from the jar. This is serious. This is violence. And violence ain’t the answer, no matter what. You gotta learn to control your anger, learn to lose with grace. That’s what makes you a man, not how hard you can punch someone.
I heard some folks sayin’ Hafid’s got talent, that he’s a good wrestler. Maybe so. But talent don’t mean nothin’ if you ain’t got no character. You gotta be a good person first, and a good wrestler second. And right now, Hafid ain’t lookin’ too good in my book.
I hope this Hafid kid gets some help, learns from this, and becomes a better person. And I hope that Cooper boy is alright. He didn’t deserve none of this. This whole thing just makes me shake my head. Kids these days, I tell ya, they need a good whippin’ and a whole lot more teachin’. But that’s just my two cents, for what it’s worth. The world needs more kindness, not more fists.
This Hafid Alicea story, it ain’t just about wrestling. It’s about respect, about sportsmanship, about being a decent human being. And from what I’ve seen, Hafid’s got a long way to go. I hope he gets there, for his own sake and for the sake of everyone around him.
So, that’s the story as I see it. A young fella makes a bad choice, hurts another person, and now he’s gotta face the consequences. It’s a sad story, but maybe, just maybe, somethin’ good can come outta it. Maybe Hafid will learn his lesson, and maybe other kids will learn from his mistake. That’s all we can hope for, ain’t it?
