Okay, so here’s the deal with getting Demon’s Souls Remake running on PC. It’s been a journey, lemme tell ya.
First off, I gotta say, I was hyped when I heard rumors about it maybe coming to PC. I mean, the PS5 is cool and all, but I’m a PC gamer at heart. So, I started digging around online, trying to figure out if there was any actual truth to it.

The Search Begins:
- I started by Googling like crazy. “Demon’s Souls Remake PC Release,” “Demon’s Souls Remake PC Port,” all that jazz. Tons of articles, but most of them were just speculation, nothing concrete.
- Next, I hit up the usual forums – Reddit, NeoGAF (well, now ResetEra), even some obscure gaming boards. Again, lots of “wishful thinking” but no real evidence.
Emulation to the Rescue (Sort Of):
Alright, so since an official PC release wasn’t happening (at least, not yet), I started looking into PS5 emulation. I knew it was a long shot, PS5 is relatively new, but I figured it was worth a try.
- I found a couple of PS5 emulators that were supposedly “in development,” but they were super early stages. Like, barely able to boot up the PS5’s operating system, let alone run a demanding game like Demon’s Souls.
- I downloaded one of them (can’t remember the exact name), followed the instructions, and… nothing. Just a black screen. Total waste of time.
Remote Play is the Way (For Now):
So, emulation was a bust. But then I remembered the PS Remote Play app. I’d used it before to play PS4 games on my PC, and it worked pretty well. Figured it was worth a shot with Demon’s Souls.
- First, I made sure my PC and PS5 were on the same network. Wired connection for both is a must, WiFi is gonna be lag city.
- I downloaded the PS Remote Play app from Sony’s website and installed it. Pretty straightforward.
- I fired up the app, logged into my PlayStation Network account, and it found my PS5 right away.
- Then, the moment of truth: I launched Demon’s Souls on my PS5, and then selected “Start Game” on the Remote Play app on my PC.
Actually Playing! (With Caveats):

And… it worked! Demon’s Souls was streaming to my PC. I was playing! Granted, it wasn’t perfect.
- Latency: There was a bit of input lag, especially noticeable when trying to parry or dodge. It took some getting used to.
- Visual Quality: The stream wasn’t as sharp as playing on the PS5 directly. I tweaked the settings in the Remote Play app to prioritize quality over frame rate, which helped a bit.
- Controller: You pretty much need a DualSense controller connected to your PC for the full experience. I tried using an Xbox controller, but the button mapping was all messed up.
Final Thoughts:
So, yeah, I “played” Demon’s Souls Remake on PC. It wasn’t the ideal experience, but it was better than nothing. Remote Play is a decent workaround if you really want to see the game on your PC screen. Hopefully, one day Sony will actually release a proper PC port. Until then, this is what we got.
Oh, and one more thing: make sure your internet connection is stable. Nothing worse than getting disconnected in the middle of a boss fight!
