Alright, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz around this “Delta Force: Hawk Ops” game lately. It’s apparently a reboot of the old Delta Force series, which I used to play way back in the day. Nostalgia hit me hard, and I figured I’d try to get into the alpha test.
First thing I did was jump onto Steam. They have this “Steam Playtest” thing now, and you can request access to alphas and betas right from the game’s page. So I went to the Hawk Ops page and saw a big green button that said “Request Access”. Clicked that bad boy without hesitation. Fingers crossed, I thought, hoping they’d pick me.
Then I started digging around to see if there were other ways to get in, just in case Steam didn’t work out. Turns out they’re giving out keys all over the place. Some website called LagoFast was doing a collab, and I think there were some Twitch drops too? I didn’t really look into those too much, since I was mainly focused on the Steam route.
From what I gathered, the alpha test is supposed to start on August 6th, which is UTC+0. So that’s like…early morning for me. And it sounds like it’ll run until at least August 17th. Plenty of time to get some good playtime in, hopefully.
Apparently, they’re going to have over 40 weapons in the alpha test, which is pretty nuts for an early test. I remember the old Delta Force games having a decent selection of guns, but 40? That’s a lot. I’m curious to see what kind of stuff they’ve come up with.
Anyway, I’m still waiting to hear back about my Steam Playtest request. It’s like waiting for Christmas morning as a kid, except instead of presents, it’s a chance to shoot virtual bad guys. I’ll keep you guys updated if I get in. Wish me luck!
