Okay, so, you guys know I’m always trying new things and pushing my limits, right? Well, this time I might have pushed a little too hard. It all started last week. I was working out, feeling good, pushing through a chest day, and bam, I felt this sharp pain in my chest. At first, I thought maybe I just pulled something, no big deal. I got my workout done, and I took it easy.
But the pain didn’t go away. In fact, it got worse. The next day, I woke up and my chest was on fire. I looked in the mirror, and holy moly, the bruising was insane. My entire right pec and part of my arm was a deep, nasty purple. It looked like a freaking war zone on my body! Obviously, I went to see the doctor. He took one look at me and then gave me the bad news. The doctor said I completely tore my pec, right off the bone.
I was shocked! I mean, I’ve had injuries before, but a full-on tear? That’s some serious stuff. But the doctor told me this happens and then I could decide to do the surgery or not. Well, I did some research and asked around.
What I Found Out
- Surgery and Rehab: If I got surgery, I’d be out for like 6 months of rehab. That’s half a year just recovering! But it’s probably the best way to make sure it heals right.
- No Surgery: If I skip the surgery, I could be back in action in a few weeks, but I’d have to be super careful. Lots of rest and slow, careful training to get back in shape.
After thinking about it, I decided to go through with the surgery. My career is based on using my body, so I don’t want to risk making it worse long term. I figured it’s better to take the time off now and heal properly, you know?
So, I went under the knife, and the surgery went well, as far as I can tell. Now I’m in recovery mode. It’s definitely not fun. I’m in a lot of pain, and it’s frustrating not being able to do much. The worst part is that I had this big event with my wrestling friend, Seth Rollins. We were supposed to have this epic match inside Hell in a Cell. I couldn’t let that down, so I did something crazy. I decided to go through with it anyway, torn pec and all.
I know, I know, it sounds nuts, but I had to do it. I’m not a big fan of the Bullet Club and they gave me the name ‘The American Nightmare’, I really don’t like this name. When I was back in AEW, I became one of the most popular stars. So I can’t disappoint my fans, I just couldn’t. So, when I stepped into the Cell, I took off my jacket, and you could see the whole mess. The crowd went wild. They knew what I was putting myself through, and honestly, their energy helped me get through it.
I’m not gonna lie, the match was brutal. Every move sent pain shooting through my chest, but I pushed through. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I did it. And you know what? I’d do it again. It’s all about pushing your limits and seeing what you’re capable of. I found out that I am stronger than I knew, both physically and mentally.
So, that’s my story. I tore my pec, had surgery, and wrestled in one of the most intense matches of my life, all in the span of a couple of weeks. Now I’m on the long road to recovery. It’s gonna be tough, but I’m determined to come back stronger than ever. I hope my experience can inspire some of you to push through your own challenges, whatever they may be. Just remember to listen to your body, and don’t be afraid to take a break when you need it. Stay tuned for updates on my recovery. It’s gonna be a wild ride!
