Alright, so I’ve been playing this game, Escape from Tarkov, and there’s this one quest called “Chumming” that’s been a real pain. Basically, Skier, this trader guy in the game, wants me to stash a bunch of gold chains in different spots around the map. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong.
First off, I had to get my hands on these gold chains. You know, they are not just lying around everywhere. I spent hours looting, trying to find these things. Finally got my hands on them.
Then came the fun part – not. I decided to hit up Interchange first. I knew from some forums that the tech stores were a good place to plant the chains, especially this one called Techlight. Some folks said to camp it from a distance, but I’m not really the camping type. I did, however, have a saferoom key, which I thought might come in handy.
So, I went into the mall. Found Techlight, it’s right next to this Avokado store, which I needed to visit for another quest anyway. I slipped in, trying to be all sneaky, but this place is always crawling with players. I managed to stash one chain, but then I heard footsteps. Panic mode activated.
- I tried to make a run for it, using the glass doors near the OLI and IDEA stores like some guides suggested.
- I found a somewhat decent hiding spot and waited.
- My heart was pounding.
Sure enough, a couple of guys came running through, and I managed to take them out. That was four kills out of the five I needed, all thanks to that little hiding spot by the glass doors. I guess sometimes those guides actually work.
Customs, The Final Frontier
Next up was Customs. I figured I’d use a similar strategy – find a high-traffic area and try to ambush people. But Customs is a different beast altogether. There are fewer obvious choke points than Interchange. I spent a good while just wandering around, feeling like a lost puppy.
Eventually, I ended up near the dorms. It’s usually a hotspot, but it’s also super risky. I decided to try and wait it out near the entrance. I found a nice corner, tried to stay completely still. It felt like forever, but eventually, I heard someone coming. Got my fifth kill there. It wasn’t pretty, but a kill’s a kill, right?
Finally, I could go back to Skier and complete this damn quest. It took way longer than I expected, and I definitely died a few times along the way, but hey, I got it done. Now I can finally move on to something else in this crazy game. Hopefully, the next quest isn’t as much of a headache.
