Alright, so I’ve been sinking some serious hours into Baldur’s Gate 3 lately, and let me tell you, the romance options are a wild ride. I was super curious if you could juggle multiple romances at once, so I decided to put it to the test. Here’s how it all went down.
I started a new game and made it my mission to woo as many companions as possible. First up was Shadowheart. I made sure to always side with her, you know, just really get in her good graces. We had some pretty intense moments, especially during that scene with the… well, let’s just say it was memorable. Anyway, things were going great. We were vibing, and I was feeling pretty good about our budding romance.
But then there’s Lae’zel. She’s tough, she’s fierce, and I found myself drawn to her, too. So, I started flirting with her as well, all while keeping things going with Shadowheart. It was a bit tricky, but I managed to keep them both interested. There were a few close calls where I thought they might catch on, but I played it cool, and they seemed none the wiser.
Next, I set my sights on Astarion. That charming rogue, he’s hard to resist. I mean, who could say no to that smile? So, alongside courting Shadowheart and Lae’zel, I started flirting with Astarion too. It was a bit like juggling chainsaws, but hey, I was committed to my experiment.
Now, things got even more interesting when I met Karlach. She’s strong, she’s adorable, and she needs a hug. I couldn’t resist trying to romance her too. So, there I was, juggling four romances at once. It was chaotic, but I was having a blast. Each relationship had its own unique moments, and I was enjoying getting to know each character on a deeper level.
- Shadowheart: Mysterious and complex.
- Lae’zel: Fierce and passionate.
- Astarion: Charming and mischievous.
- Karlach: Strong and warm-hearted.
I did some digging online and found out that you can technically have two active romances, but to really lock one in, you gotta break it off with the others. The only exception is this guy Halsin, who’s apparently cool with being a third wheel with some of the characters. Also I find out there are eight romancable characters in total. That’s wild!
So, I kept going with my multiple romances, seeing how far I could push it. I had some amazing moments with each character. There was that one night with Shadowheart under the stars, and that intense sparring session with Lae’zel. Not to mention the… let’s just say “steamy” encounters with Astarion. And of course, those heartfelt conversations with Karlach.
But, eventually, things started to come to a head. I realized I couldn’t keep this up forever. The game does let you romance multiple companions, but it’s not really meant to be a long-term thing. You can enjoy those early stages of romance, flirt around, and have some fun, but at some point, you gotta make a choice.
Honestly, it was a bit of a relief when I finally decided to focus on one character. It felt more genuine, more meaningful. But hey, it was a fun experiment while it lasted! If you’re looking for a bit of romantic chaos in your Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough, go ahead and try romancing multiple characters. Just be prepared for the drama!
