Okay, so, I’ve been playing World of Warcraft for a while, and one thing that always bugged me was having to dismount every time I wanted to mine some ore. It’s a real pain, especially when you’re trying to gather a lot of resources quickly. I heard from others that there was a way to do it, so I started digging around to find out how.
First, I hopped on some forums and started reading through what other players were saying. It seemed like a lot of people were in the same boat. Some mentioned a blacksmithing item, but I’m not a blacksmith, so that was no good for me. Others talked about the Sky Golem mount, which lets you gather herbs without dismounting. But I needed it for mining, not herbing.

Then, I stumbled upon a post mentioning something about “Dragonflight” and a “specialization system.” I started to get excited! It sounded like there might be a way to mine without dismounting in the new expansion. I dove deeper into the Dragonflight info.
I learned that in Dragonflight, there’s this thing called a “Mining Process” specialization. Turns out, if you put 35 points into that, you can mine ore while you’re on your dragonriding mount! I immediately logged in and started messing with my specializations. I earned some Knowledge points and put them into the Mining Fundamentals.
After grinding for a bit, I managed to get 60 Knowledge points. I found out that 35 points in Mining Process let you mine while mounted, but 60 points in Mining Fundamentals lets you mine while on any ground mount. It was a bit of a grind, but I finally got there! I put those points into the right specialization and took my mount out for a spin.
And guess what? It worked! I was able to fly up to ore nodes and mine them without ever getting off my mount. It’s seriously a game-changer. No more wasting time dismounting and remounting. I can just zip around, mine to my heart’s content, and move on to the next node. It made gathering resources a hundred times easier.
Here are the basic steps I took:
- Spent time reading related forum posts.
- Learned about the “Dragonflight” expansion and its “specialization system.”
- Focused on the “Mining Process” and “Mining Fundamentals” specializations.
- Earned 60 Knowledge points through gameplay.
- Invested 35 points into “Mining Process” and 60 points into “Mining Fundamentals.”
- Tested it out and successfully mined ore while mounted.
If you’re a miner in World of Warcraft, I highly recommend looking into this. It’s totally worth the effort. Happy mining, everyone!
