Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this whole baseball stats thing, specifically the Texas Rangers vs. Red Sox matchup. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole, but I wanted to see what I could find out about the players’ performance. You know, just for fun.
Getting Started
First, I started poking around, looking for resources. I mean, where else do you go when you want info? I stumbled upon a bunch of websites, like, one of them showed me the most AL Cy Young awards, another one showed me trending stats, and another one showed me the live coverage of this match, kind of stuff. It seems that most of them just give you the scores and some basic stuff, nothing too deep.
Finding the Good Stuff
Then I hit up some sports sites, hoping to find some more detailed stats. I found one that had game recaps and analysis for a game on August 21st, and another with scores and stats for a game on August 3rd. They gave a little more detail, like who scored what and when, but I wanted more of the player-specific details like hitting records.
Sifting Through the Data
I found a site that had a list of all the games between these two teams ever. That’s a lot of games! I was mostly interested in recent stuff, so I narrowed it down. I looked up the last ten games and the data got messed up. There is a website that gave me more details about a match on Aug 12, 2024. Although the information is limited, there are still some points that caught my eyes, such as the attendance of this match is 35715, and the match continued for 3:34.
Player Stats
One thing I found is that a guy named Wilyer Abreu is pretty good. It said he had a two-run homer and then an RBI single that put the Red Sox ahead. Seems like a key player. And also, a player named Abreu, he had 2 go-ahead hits. Looks like both of these two teams have players with the same name.
Messing Around with Tekken 7
While doing all of this, I also jumped into Tekken 7 with my friend! We grabbed our controllers and chose our fighters, and the brawls were intense. This game is really cool. But unfortunately, Tekken 7 does not have an online co-op campaign, the online co-op campaign can only be found in Tekken 6.
Wrapping Up
Anyway, back to baseball. It’s kind of cool to see how you can track player performance over time. I’m no expert, but it’s fun to see how these guys do, and how their stats change from game to game. This whole thing started as a simple curiosity, and now I’m kind of hooked. Who knew looking up stats could be so interesting?
- Started by just browsing around for basic info.
- Found some game recaps and scores.
- Dug into player-specific stats like home runs and RBIs.
- Got sidetracked by playing Tekken 7 with my buddy.
- Realized it’s kind of addictive to track this stuff.
Maybe I’ll keep digging into this. Or maybe I’ll just go play more Tekken. We’ll see!
