Okay, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3 today. Specifically, the “bg3 paralyzed tiefling” situation.
So, I started a new game, rolled up a charming Tiefling, you know, the usual. Everything was going great, I was exploring, looting, and generally having a blast. Then, bam! I ran into a nasty encounter.

I won’t spoil the exact details, but let’s just say it involved some creepy crawlies and a whole lot of magic. One minute, my Tiefling was all agile and ready to go, and the next, she was completely paralyzed. Totally frozen!
I panicked a little, I admit it. I mashed all the buttons, tried to move, nothing. She was just stuck there, like a statue. My first thought was, “Oh great, is this a bug? Do I need to reload?”
Luckily, I remembered something. Paralysis is a condition, right? So, I checked my character sheet, and sure enough, there it was: “Paralyzed.” Okay, so now what?
I dug around in my inventory, hoping I had some kind of potion or scroll. No luck. Then I remembered my Cleric, Shadowheart. She’s got all those healing spells.
Figuring Out the Fix
I switched over to Shadowheart and started browsing her spell list. There it was! Lesser Restoration. The description even said it could remove paralysis. Perfect!
I targeted my poor, frozen Tiefling with the spell, clicked, and poof! She was back in action. Good as new. Seriously, I almost cheered out loud.

- Encountered a paralyzing enemy.
- Verified the “Paralyzed” condition on the character sheet.
- Used Lesser Restoration from a Cleric (Shadowheart in my case) to remove the paralysis.
So, yeah, that’s my story of the paralyzed Tiefling. It was a bit of a scare, but it taught me a valuable lesson: always read those spell descriptions, and don’t underestimate the power of a good Cleric. And if you will meet those spiders, be careful!
