Okay, so I just went through a really interesting part in BG3, and I just had to share it with you guys. It’s all about this character, or, well, more like a construct, named Bernard in the Arcane Tower. You guys know what I am talking about, right?
So, at first, when I decided to go to the tower, I found there was an elevator. I took the elevator and got to the highest floor, which is, like, the fourth floor. And there he was, Bernard. This guy is not your typical character; he’s a construct, and honestly, he looks quite intimidating at first glance.
But here’s the thing, Bernard isn’t about fighting, although he seems like that. It’s all about wits. He’s guarding some secrets, and the only way to get through him is by figuring out these riddles he throws at you. I thought, “Okay, this is going to be easy.” Boy, was I wrong!
- I started looking around the tower. I mean, this place is full of old books, parchments, and all sorts of magical stuff. You’d think the answers would be just lying around, right?
- Turns out, it’s not that simple. Each piece of text I found gave me a clue, but it was never straightforward. It was like putting together a really complicated puzzle.
For example, I found this one book that talked about light and darkness. At first, I had no clue what it meant. But after exploring a bit more, I realized it was related to one of Bernard’s questions. It was a “Eureka!” moment, you know?
Then there was this other time when I stumbled upon a parchment that seemed like a love letter. Totally out of place, I thought. But guess what? It held the key to another one of Bernard’s riddles. It’s crazy how everything is connected in this tower.
I spent a good amount of time just going through every nook and cranny of that place. Each discovery felt like a small victory. And let me tell you, the feeling when I finally got all the answers right and Bernard acknowledged it? It was awesome.
The whole experience with Bernard was much more of a mental challenge than a physical one. It was a nice change of pace. After all the fighting, this whole riddle thing was a breath of fresh air.
In the end, getting past Bernard wasn’t just about finding the right answers. It was about understanding the story of the tower, the secrets it held, and the role Bernard played in it all. Pretty deep stuff for a game, right?
Anyway, I just wanted to share this experience with you all. If any of you are playing BG3 and get to the Arcane Tower, pay attention to those books and parchments. They’re more than just decorations. They’re the key to getting past Bernard. Good luck, and happy gaming!
