Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “weapon master ranks” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I wanted to create a system, you know, for tracking how good someone is with different weapons. Like, are they a newbie, a pro, or something in between? So, here’s how it went down:
Brainstorming and Setup
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen – old school, I know. I needed to figure out the ranks themselves. I jotted down some ideas, like “Novice,” “Apprentice,” “Adept,” “Expert,” and “Master.” Seemed like a decent progression, right?
The Nitty-Gritty Details
Then came the tricky part: how do you actually get to each rank? I decided to go with a points system. You earn points by, well, using the weapon. The more you use it, and the better you do with it, the more points you get. Simple enough, I thought.
- Novice: 0-100 points. Basically, you’re just starting out. You’re probably hitting yourself more than the enemy.
- Apprentice: 101-300 points. You’re getting the hang of it. Less self-inflicted damage.
- Adept: 301-600 points. You’re pretty good. People might actually want you on their team.
- Expert: 601-1000 points. You’re a force to be reckoned with. Enemies tremble.
- Master: 1001+ points. You’re basically a legend. Songs will be sung about your weapon skills.
First Iteration
I started using it while playing, and it has been working as expected. It needs some work, though.
Making it (Slightly) More Official
I typed all this up in a simple document. No fancy formatting, just the basics. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start. I’m still tweaking the point values, and I might even add more ranks later. Who knows, maybe “Grandmaster” or “Weapon God”? The possibilities are endless!
So yeah, that’s my little project. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s been fun to work on. If you’re into this kind of thing, give it a try! Maybe you can come up with something even better. And if you do, let me know! I’m always up for seeing how other people tackle these things.
