Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Honkai: Star Rail lately, and I gotta say, the grind for materials is REAL. I wanted to specifically focus on getting my Firefly up, which meant I needed a TON of those specific ascension and trace materials. Let me tell you, it wasn’t a walk in the park, but I figured some stuff out that I wanted to share.
My Firefly Farming Adventure
First things first, I looked up exactly what Firefly needed. I always do that to make sure I am prepared. And I started with the basics.
- Trace Materials: I needed a bunch of those “Raging Heart” things, along with the lower-tier versions (can’t remember the names right now, something generic).
- Ascension Materials: This was the tricky part. I needed the “Puberty Exotic” dropped by that new Stagnant Shadow boss, plus more of those basic enemy drops.
So, I started by tackling the Calyxes. I auto-battled those things until my Trailblaze Power ran dry, day after day. It’s repetitive, yeah, but pretty straightforward. Just make sure you’ve got a strong enough team to handle the highest difficulty you can, to maximize the rewards. The best stragety is to use your fuel if you have.
The Stagnant Shadow was a bit more of a pain. That boss, he’s not super tough, but he can definitely mess you up if you’re not paying attention. I made sure to have at least one healer and a couple of characters that could break his Weakness, and then it was all about learning his attack patterns. The first few times, I wiped, not gonna lie. But eventually, I got the hang of it and was able to farm him consistently. It takes some time, so be patient.
While I was farming, I also made sure to do my daily assignments and any events that were going on. Sometimes those give out materials as rewards, and every little bit helps, right? Plus, you get Stellar Jade and other goodies, so it’s a win-win.
The most annoying thing? The drop rates. Sometimes you get lucky, and you get a bunch of gold-tier materials in one go. Other times, you spend a whole day’s worth of Trailblaze Power and barely get anything. It’s all RNG, so you just gotta keep at it and pray to the gacha gods, haha!
Finally, after what felt like forever, I managed to gather everything I needed. I ascended Firefly to the max level and leveled up her most important Traces. It was a huge relief to finally be done with the farming, and seeing her at full power was totally worth it. Although I am not a fan of the new relic I had to farm for her.
