Alright, folks, let’s talk about my recent dive into the “Trial of Devotion” in Risk of Rain 2. I’ve been playing this game for a while, and I always like to keep track of the interesting runs, and this one was definitely a doozy.
Getting Started
So, I picked Commando, as I usually do – he’s my go-to guy. I love his versatility. I jumped into a regular run, not really planning anything special. Just wanted to have some fun and see how far I could get.

The Unexpected Turn
I was cruising through the first few stages, picking up some decent items. Nothing crazy, but a solid start. Then, I stumbled upon a hidden realm, which I forgot the name of. Inside the hidden realm I found an alter of sorts. I just clicked it without thinking. It was the new Trial of Devotion. I was like “Oh well, Here we go!”
The Trial Begins
- Wave after wave: the trial threw enemies at me. Nothing I couldn’t handle, I was still in the eary stages of the run.
- Getting tougher: As I progressed, things got a bit hairy. So many little guys. SO MANY.
- Panic mode: At one point, I almost bit the dust. I was low on health, dodging like crazy, and just barely managed to stay alive. The screen was just a mess of monsters and explosions.
Victory (Barely!)
After what felt like an eternity, I finally defeated the last wave. And then, as I had read online, these little red guys spawned. It was a ton of them, all overloading. This means they do crazy electic damage when they explode! It was pretty cool! I was so relieved! I grabbed the rewards, and the red item that spawned, and continued with my run, feeling like a total boss.
It was a fun challenge. I’d do it again for sure.
