Alright, folks, let’s dive into my journey of figuring out the “best” Town Hall 10 army in Clash of Clans. I put “best” in quotes because, honestly, it depends on what you’re trying to do – trophy pushing, farming, Clan Wars? But I’ll walk you through what I’ve experimented with and what’s worked for me.
My Early TH10 Struggles
When I first hit TH10, I was all over the place. I tried sticking with my old TH9 strats, but they just weren’t cutting it. I was getting wrecked by Infernos, and my attacks felt… weak. So, I started messing around. A LOT.

The GoWiPe Phase
First up, I went through a serious GoWiPe phase. You know, Golems, Wizards, P.E.K.* – the classic. I figured, big and beefy, right?
- Pros: I have to admit that it can be a good 2-star strategy against many bases. And If you use too much of them in your army the damage can get really intense.
- Cons: It felt slow, and I often ran out of time. Plus, those Infernos, especially multi-target ones, just melted my troops. It was also getting expensive, elixir-wise.
Experimenting with Air Attacks
Then, I decided to try air attacks. I’d seen some impressive LavaLoon raids, so I gave it a shot. I leveled up my Balloons and started practicing.
- Pros: When it worked, it was awesome! Total destruction.
- Cons: It’s super tricky to get right. One wrong move with a Seeking Air Mine, and your whole attack can fall apart. And let’s be real, my Balloon pathing wasn’t always the… smartest. I needed something more reliable.
The “Aha!” Moment: Miners!
Finally, I stumbled upon Miners. I’d upgraded them a bit but hadn’t really used them seriously. Then, I watched a few YouTube videos, saw how people were using them, and… BOOM. It clicked.
Here’s the basic army comp I landed on:
- Miners: Lots of them! I take 10 of these, and I think it is more than enough.
- Healers: Four or five, to keep those Miners alive.
- Wizards: A few, maybe four or five, for cleanup and funneling.
- Baby Dragon: one for helping clean up.
- Spells: Heal Spells are key, and a Rage for when the Miners hit the core. Maybe a Freeze for those pesky Infernos.
- Clan Castle: I usually take extra valkyries.
Why This Miner Army Worked for Me
Here’s the deal: Miners bypass walls. Walls! That’s huge. They go straight for defenses, and with Healers backing them up, they’re surprisingly tanky. The key is to create a good funnel, so they don’t just wander around aimlessly. That’s where the Wizards and Baby Dragon come in.
I use the Wizards and a few other troops to clear out some outside buildings, creating a path for the Miners to go straight into the base. Once they’re in, I drop Heal Spells as needed, keeping them alive as they chew through defenses. The Rage Spell is for when they hit the core, especially if there’s an Inferno Tower nearby. It gives them that extra boost to power through.

I’m not saying this is the definitive best TH10 army. Everyone has their own style. But for me, this Miner-based army has been a game-changer. I’m consistently getting 2-stars, and sometimes even 3-stars, against other TH10s. My loot has skyrocketed, and I’m finally enjoying Clan Wars again!
So, if you’re struggling at TH10, give Miners a try. You might be surprised at how effective they can be. And remember, practice makes perfect! Keep tweaking your army and your strategy until you find what works best for you. Good luck, and clash on!
