Alright, so I finally decided to get serious about preparing for Childe’s rerun. I’ve been putting it off, but with the rumors swirling, I figured it’s now or never. Let me tell you, it’s been a journey.
First Step: The Boss Grind
First things first, I needed those Cleansing Hearts from the Oceanid. Let me just say, that fight is still annoying. I’ve got a decent Ganyu, so it’s not hard, but it just takes so. darn. long. I spent a good chunk of yesterday just running that boss over and over again. My thumbs are killing me.
I used this team.
- Ganyu: Main DPS, no brainer.
- Zhongli: Shield, cause I’m lazy and don’t wanna dodge.
- Bennett: Heals and attack buff, gotta love him.
- Xiangling: Extra Pyro for the birds, though honestly, Ganyu mostly handled them.
Got enough Cleansing hearts now.
Talent Material Madness
Next up: talent books. Ugh, the “Freedom” domain. I swear, those slimes are the bane of my existence. I always forget to bring a good Cryo character to break the shields on the mages easily. I tried different team and finally I settled on this:
- Nahida: To constantly apply Dendro.
- Kuki Shinobu: Electro application and healing.
- Xingqiu:More Hydro to trigger Bloom.
- Fischl: Because Oz is a good boy.
I did manage to snag enough books to at least get Childe’s main attack and skill to level 8. I’ll probably go back for more later, but I needed a break from those bouncy little jerks.
Artifact Anguish
This is where the real pain began. The Heart of Depth domain. I’ve been farming this on and off for months, trying to get a decent set for Childe. My luck has been…well, let’s just say it’s been less than stellar. I’ve gotten so many Blizzard Strayer pieces, I could outfit an entire Cryo army.
Finally I think this is the best set for now.
- Flower: Decent, with some Crit Rate and Crit DMG.
- Feather: Okay, but I wish it had more Crit DMG.
- Sands: ATK% with some Crit Rate, which is fine.
- Goblet: Hydro DMG Bonus, thank goodness! But the substats are kinda meh.
- Circlet: Crit DMG, but again, the substats could be better.
Honestly, I’m probably going to have to keep farming this domain. It’s the never-ending cycle of artifact RNG. But, for now, it’s good enough to at least be usable.
Weapon Woes
I’m currently using the Rust on him, I don’t get any good bow, maybe I will try to get his signature weapon.
Final Thoughts (For Now)
So, that’s where I’m at with my Childe farming. It’s been a grind, and it’s definitely not over yet. But I feel like I’ve made some decent progress. I’m still hoping for better artifacts, and I might try to pull for a better weapon if I get lucky. But even if I don’t, I think I’ve got him in a good enough spot to be a solid damage dealer. Now, just gotta wait for that rerun banner…
