Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to play Colette in Brawl Stars, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started by just jumping in, you know, guns blazing, but quickly realized that’s NOT the way to go with her. She’s not like Shelly or Bull, you can’t just run in and expect to win.
So, I started experimenting. First thing I noticed? Her main attack does damage based on a percentage of the enemy’s current health. That’s HUGE. The more health they have, the more damage you do. This means tanks are surprisingly easy to take down early on, as long as I use my Taxing Shot star power.

My Experimentation
- Gadget Tryouts: I played around with both of her gadgets. “Na-ah!” felt pretty useless at first. I mean, reducing damage? Why I wanted to always shoot! But then I got into some sticky situations where that damage reduction saved my life and allowed me to win my battles, and that is to use it right before my Super. It is better than I thought!
- Star Power Struggle: Initially, I used the basic setting in brawl stars. But Taxing shot is great for finishing off enemies. It just felt more reliable to deal at least some consistent damage, especially against low-health brawlers. Push it! is also great for other situatuons.
Building the “Perfect” Colette (For Me, Anyway)
After a lot of trial and error (and I mean A LOT), I’ve landed on a build that’s been working pretty well for me. It’s all about maximizing that percentage-based damage and staying alive long enough to use it.
- Star Power: I changed to the Taxing Shot. It’s good in the current meta.
- Gadget: Na-ah!. It’s surprisingly useful for survival.
- Gear 1: Damage Gear. Gotta boost that attack whenever I can.
- Gear 2: Shield Gear. Extra health is always a good thing, especially since Colette can be a bit squishy.
Putting It All Together
My usual strategy now looks like this:
1. Start by hitting those high-health enemies. Get a couple of shots in to chunk them down.
2. Use the Super to either charge through enemies (dealing even more damage based on their health!) or to escape if things get dicey.

3. Finish them off. It’s super satisfying to watch their health just melt away.
It’s not foolproof, of course. I still get wrecked by assassins sometimes, and a well-placed shot can still take me out. But overall, this build and strategy have definitely improved my Colette game. It’s all about playing smart, not just hard. Keep practicing, and you’ll get there!
