Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Blood Strike” game lately, and I gotta say, some of the character designs are pretty cool. Val, in particular, caught my eye. So, I thought, “Why not try to make a wallpaper out of her?”
First things first, I needed some good source material. I spent a good chunk of time just playing the game, trying to get a feel for Val’s aesthetic, you know? I took a bunch of screenshots during gameplay – her running, shooting, using her abilities, all that good stuff.

Then, the real fun began. I booted up my trusty old image editing software. Nothing fancy, just something I’m comfortable with. I started by picking out the best screenshots – the ones where Val looked the most badass, of course. I think I ended up with five or six solid contenders.
Next, I started playing around with composition. I tried a few different layouts:
- One with Val front and center, kind of a heroic pose.
- Another with her off to the side, with some cool background elements from the game.
- Even one where I tried to make it look like she was bursting out of the screen. That one didn’t quite work out.
After a bunch of tweaking and messing with colors and filters, I finally settled on a design I liked. It’s got Val in a dynamic pose, with some subtle red and black accents to match her color scheme, you know, trying to capture the “blood” part of Blood Strike.
I spent a good few hours on this. The process was mainly about, cropping images and putting them back together, erasing stuff, painting over, adding some color grading.
The hardest part? Honestly, it was probably just choosing which screenshot to use as the base. There were so many good ones! But hey, that’s a good problem to have, right?

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s now proudly displayed on my desktop. Might even try making some for the other characters if I have time. It’s surprisingly relaxing, just messing around with images and creating something new.
