Okay, so I finally decided to tackle “Dormarth SMT V.” I’d heard a lot about this, seen some videos, and figured, “Why not?” I’m not a pro at this stuff, but I like to mess around and see what I can do.
First, I had to get my hands on the, uh, necessary materials. That took a little bit of digging around, you know, finding the right places online. Nothing too crazy, just some forums and, uh, other places. Let’s just say it involved some searching.

Getting Started
Once I had everything downloaded, I needed to get it all set up. This part was a little tricky. I used an emulator, because, well, I don’t have the actual console thingy. I found a decent one after trying a couple that were kinda janky.
- Emulator Setup: This involved finding the right BIOS files. That’s another thing I had to hunt down online. More searching, more downloading. Eventually, I found ones that worked.
- Game Files: I made sure I had the game file in the correct format. There were a few different versions floating around, and I ended up trying a couple before I found one that the emulator liked.
Then I loaded up the game in the emulator. Fingers crossed… and it worked! I was actually pretty surprised. I’m used to things going wrong at least a few times before they work right.
Playing Around
So, the game itself… man, it’s tough! I mean, I knew it was supposed to be challenging, but wow. I spent a good chunk of time just figuring out the basics, like how to move around, fight, and all that. The demons are pretty cool, though. Lots of weird designs.
I messed with the settings a bit, trying to get the best performance. It was a little choppy at first, but I tweaked some things in the emulator’s options and got it running smoother. Not perfect, but definitely playable.
I probably spent a few hours just exploring the first area. I died. A lot. Like, seriously, a lot. But it was fun! Slowly, I started to get the hang of the combat system, figuring out weaknesses and stuff. It’s all about exploiting those weaknesses, which is easier said than done.
My Progress (So Far)
I haven’t gotten super far yet. I’m still in the early stages, I think. I managed to beat a few bosses, but it took a bunch of tries. I’m definitely not speedrunning this thing, that’s for sure. I’m taking my time, trying to figure things out, and just generally enjoying the experience (even when I’m getting my butt kicked).

So yeah, that’s my “Dormarth SMT V” experience so far. It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride, with some setup challenges and a steep learning curve, but I’m having fun. I’ll probably keep chipping away at it and see how far I can get. Maybe I’ll update this later if I make any significant progress. Or maybe I’ll just get stuck and give up. Who knows! We’ll see.
