Alright, let’s talk about this Scadutree Blessing thing and New Game Plus (NG+). Been seeing folks ask if you keep ’em when you roll over into a new journey after finishing the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. I just went through it myself, so here’s what happened on my end.
So, I wrapped up the DLC, you know, beat the last boss, felt pretty tough with all those Scadutree Fragments I hunted down. My attack power and damage negation in the Land of Shadow were feeling solid thanks to that Scadutree Blessing level I’d built up. Think I was around level 15 or something, took a while to find all those things.

Then came the moment of truth. Headed back to the Roundtable Hold, talked to Melina at the Site of Grace, and saw that familiar option: “Begin Journey 2”. Always a bit weird starting over, right? You keep your levels, your gear, but the world resets. I specifically wondered about those new DLC blessings.
Clicked the button. Watched the opening cutscene again. Woke up in that starting chapel place, the Chapel of Anticipation. Before even picking up my flasks or checking my gear, the first thing I did was pop open my status screen. Gotta see the numbers, right?
Scrolled through. Looked at my attack power, my defenses. Everything looked… well, like it usually does at the start of NG+. Then I looked for that specific Scadutree Blessing icon and level that usually shows up. Couldn’t spot it anywhere obvious on the main status page.
Okay, maybe it’s hidden somewhere else? Checked my inventory, looked through the Key Items, thought maybe there was a tracker. Nope. Nothing. The fragments themselves were gone, obviously, since I used ’em all.
So, the big question: Do they stay?
Nope. Absolutely not. As soon as I started Journey 2, my Scadutree Blessing level was gone. Wiped clean. Back to zero.
- Scadutree Blessing Level: Reset.
- Revered Spirit Ash Blessing Level: Also reset.
It was like I’d never even collected a single fragment in the Land of Shadow. Had to double-check, went into my character screen again, looked everywhere. Confirmed. It’s a full reset on those DLC-specific power-ups.

Was I surprised? Not really, thinking about it. FromSoftware usually does this kinda thing. They want the difficulty curve, especially in the DLC area, to feel intended each time you play through it on a new NG+ cycle. If you went into NG+ Land of Shadow with max blessings already stacked, you’d probably steamroll everything way too easily, wouldn’t feel right.
It makes sense, keeps the challenge there. But yeah, part of me did kinda hope they’d carry over, just to feel that extra power boost in the main game areas during the next run. But nope, gotta earn ’em all over again each time you venture back into the Land of Shadow on a new journey.
So there you have it. If you’re planning on hitting NG+, just know you’ll be starting from scratch with the Scadutree and Spirit Ash blessings when you get back to the DLC area. Prep for another scavenger hunt!
