Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this young fella, Arch Manning, and what he’s been up to down there with the Texas Longhorns. I reckon most folks around here, at least them that follow college ball, been hearin’ about him for a spell now. He’s one of them Mannings, you know, the ones that been throwin’ footballs through the years, from his grandpappy Archie to them uncles Peyton and Eli. But this boy, Arch, he’s makin’ a name for himself now, playin’ for the big ol’ Texas team.
So, I heard he made his second start as quarterback for Texas this past Saturday, and folks around town, well, they say he done good. You see, Texas played Mississippi State that day, and they came out on top with a nice win, 35-13. Now, Texas is sittin’ at No. 1, so there’s a lotta folks watchin’ ‘em real close, hopin’ for big things. The fella that usually plays quarterback, Quinn Ewers, wasn’t out there, still dealin’ with some kinda injury. But that didn’t stop Arch from showin’ what he got.
Arch Manning’s Big Moment
Now, I reckon Arch ain’t no stranger to pressure. He’s got all them big ol’ shoes to fill from his family, but he ain’t lettin’ it get to him. In that game with Mississippi State, he made some real good throws, folks sayin’ his best throw came right before halftime, on a third-and-9 play. The pressure was on, but Arch, he stayed calm and hit his target, keepin’ the Longhorns ahead when it looked like Mississippi State might be makin’ a comeback. That was a big moment, I tell ya.
Now, Mississippi State, they weren’t just rollin’ over easy. They put up a bit of a fight, especially late in the first half. They managed to pull the score close to 7-6 with a couple of field goals, but in the end, Texas was just too much. Arch, though, he did what he needed to do, and that’s what counts, right? He showed everyone that he got the stuff to lead Texas and maybe take ‘em all the way this season.
Why Arch Chose Texas
Now, I reckon a lotta folks wonderin’ why this young man chose Texas, given the big ol’ schools he coulda gone to. He coulda gone to Ole Miss, or Alabama, or even Georgia, but no, he chose Texas. And it wasn’t ‘bout the NIL money or playin’ right away or any of that. From what I hear, Arch picked Texas ‘cause he liked the coaches. He felt a real good connection with Coach Steve Sarkisian and that quarterbacks coach, AJ Milwee. Them fellas made him feel right at home. He said it was about trustin’ the coaches more than anything else. And you know, that’s a mighty important thing, trustin’ the folks you play for. A boy like him, he wants to make sure he’s in the right place, with folks who’ll help him get better.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ that means he ain’t got what it takes. Far as I can tell, Arch Manning’s got plenty of talent. You don’t come from a family like his without learnin’ a thing or two about football. And from what I saw, he’s got the smarts to back it up. He ain’t out there just throwin’ the ball ‘round for fun; he’s makin’ decisions, readin’ defenses, and leadin’ his team. And that’s somethin’ you can’t fake. He’s earned his spot, even if it means takin’ over the No. 1 team while the regular starter’s out.
Looking Ahead
Now, folks sayin’ that Arch might not be the permanent starter for long. Quinn Ewers is supposed to be comin’ back for the game against Oklahoma. But, you know, no matter what happens, Arch is makin’ a name for himself, and he’ll be around for a long time. I reckon we’ll be seein’ a lot more of him, especially with Texas movin’ to the SEC next year. I’ll tell ya what, that SEC’s a tough league, and it’ll be a real test for young Arch. But if he keeps doin’ what he’s doin’, I don’t doubt he’ll make his family proud and maybe even take that Longhorn team all the way to the top.
So there ya go, folks. That’s the lowdown on Arch Manning and how he’s been doin’ down there in Texas. We’ll have to see how things go, but from what I can tell, he’s one to watch. He’s got all the tools, and with a little luck, he might just follow in them big ol’ footsteps of his uncles and grandpappy.
