Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about whether or not we’re getting a second Elden Ring DLC. “Shadow of the Erdtree” was amazing, no doubt, but it left me, and a lot of other Tarnished, hungry for more. So, I decided to do some digging and see what I could find. My whole process went like this:
First Stop: Official Channels
I started with the obvious places. I checked the official Bandai Namco and FromSoftware websites, and their social media. You know, Twitter, Facebook, the usual suspects. I scrolled through tons of posts, looking for any hint, any teaser, anything at all. I found not a word about it. They are keeping their cards super close to their chest.
Next Up: News Outlets
I moved on to gaming news sites. IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer – I read through all the recent articles mentioning Elden Ring. Most of them were just recapping “Shadow of the Erdtree” or speculating wildly. No concrete info here, either, just a lot of “what ifs.” Some people did make a good point. FromSoftware’s past games, like Dark Souls, often had multiple DLCs, so there is hope that we will get another.
Diving into Forums and Reddit
This is where things got interesting. I spent hours browsing Reddit (r/Eldenring, of course) and other gaming forums. I was looking for leaks, rumors, anything that felt even remotely credible. I found a bunch of posts from people claiming to have “insider info,” but most of it seemed like wishful thinking, or just made up stuff.
- There were some interesting theories, though. People were pointing to unexplored areas on the map, unsolved mysteries in the lore, and characters who seemed like they had more story to tell.
- There were a lot of talks about Miquella! And that is really exiting!
YouTube rabbit hole
Then, I went down the YouTube rabbit hole. I watched countless videos of Elden Ring lore analysis, speculation, and “leak” videos. Some of them were pretty convincing, but again, nothing concrete. It’s mostly just passionate fans (like me!) trying to piece together clues.
The Result?
So, after all this digging, what did I find? Honestly, not much that’s definitive. There’s no official confirmation of a second DLC. It’s all speculation and hope at this point.
But… and this is a big “but”… the sheer amount of fan interest, the unresolved storylines, and FromSoftware’s history with DLCs do make it seem possible, even likely.
I am still excited, and I will keep my eyes open. For now, I’m just going to keep playing “Shadow of the Erdtree” and enjoying the heck out of it. If and when we get any real news, I’ll be sure to share it!
