Okay, so I was banging my head against a wall trying to take down Ancient Dragon Senessax in Elden Ring. This overgrown lizard was just frying me over and over. I swear, I tried everything!
My Struggle with Senessax
- First, I went in with my trusty Bloodhound’s Fang, thinking the bleed would do the trick. Nope. Got roasted.
- Then, I figured, “Okay, magic time!” Whipped out my sorceries, but Senessax was just too darn fast. Kept dodging everything.
- Tried summoning some help, but my spirit ashes just got zapped instantly. Useless!
I was about ready to throw my controller through the screen. I mean, seriously, this dragon was making me question my life choices.

The “Aha!” Moment
So, I did what any desperate gamer does – I started scouring the internet for help. Forums, wikis, you name it. And that’s when I stumbled upon it – Frostbite.
Apparently, Senessax has a pretty big weakness to Frostbite. Like, it really messes him up. Who knew?
Putting it to the test
- Went and grabbed the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War, and I slapped it on a weapon.
-
Back to face that annying dragon.
- This time, it was totally different. Started spamming that Hoarfrost Stomp, and boom – Frostbite procced!
Saw a huge chunk of Senessax’s health just disappear. It also seemed to slow him down, giving me more time to dodge those annoying lightning strikes.
Victory at Last!
Kept up the pressure, dodging when I needed to, and reapplying that Frostbite. And finally… down went the dragon! I actually cheered out loud, my neighbors must have thought I was crazy.

So, the moral of the story? If you’re struggling with Ancient Dragon Senessax, try Frostbite. Seriously, it’s a game-changer. Hope this helps someone else avoid the frustration I went through!
